Hey forum, me again.

i had an idea to keep the players to come back everyday like oracle is (for me at least)

it could be this traveling salesman that offers mystery cards (9) that he sells for 500 electrum. the catch is, they're face down, and you can't know what's the element of the card so you can be in for a rare, or some lousy unuseful card. can be used once a day like the oracle. I WANT FEEDBACK (feedback ogre demands it!).

And would the value of the card generally be better than the 500 spent, or is it just a chance for the rich to get an extra spin of the oracle?
Personally, I like ideas with mystery cards, because it reminds me of opening card packs (admittedly something that hardly ever happened, which is probably why I liked it).

And most importantly, what do you think the salesman would look like? Because as much as I love the fat guy, I'd be a bit dissapointed if I suddenly discover 1 year after I met him that he has a cooler, tanned, hawain shirt wearning twin that he had never told me about.

I think it'd be better if this was added to the Oracle in a sort of "Take your chance!" Option where he lays 9 cards face down, and you can either:
A) pay 500  :electrum and reveal all of them.
B) pay 65  :electrum to reveal a card at a time.

Otherwise good idea, but it fits the Oracle better as a sort of "extra fortune" he has ready.

The Oracle's "Mystery Apprentice" in a (black?) robe with a hood that obscures his face.
He sets the cards face down and tells you to pick up to 5 of the 9 for so many electrum, whereas the Oracle turns the one card face up for you and hands you electrum.

I like the general idea.

that is the idea of the salesman, but the mechanic is you pay 500 electrum to get one card.
5 of these cards are dragons, the rest are rare cards (4) and out of those four there might be a chance of an upped card (25% chance).

thats how i'd see this work

I suppose it makes sense, considering that you have upgraded cards thrown in there,  but 500 electrum for 1 card is otherwise pretty expensive...

Is it? Either you, on average, win most of your money back, or you get a rare. I would rather a random rare than 500 electrum (unless it's a shard, but I doubt those would be in this).
Somehow still around, somewhat

for the shards... i guess not as unupped, but upped, yes, they could if the thing could actually happen.

as for the question about the high cost, here's my answer: hey buddy, you got odds of getting a good cards, if not, at least a dragon. and if you're real lucky, you get an upped card.

ONE more thing. in the 25% odds of getting a rare card, you got 5%  chance to get an rare upped card.  it's an idea i forgot when i first described the suggestion
