I say yes to the forging of weapons as a viable idea, but not with already existing rare weapons, but with common weapons including Dagger, Short Sword, Hammer and Short Bow. Your only opportunity would be through the Oracle and the "Forge Key" System proposed by Thelonesun.

I don't know what the best way to balance the cost and randomness, but I think it would be great if there were another way for new players to get rare weapons. Oracle seems to random to me (you could easily accumulate multiple of every weapon from t50 just waiting for the oracle to even give you a crappy card, let alone something that would be deemed rare), but I think it would be great if once a week (maybe?) people could pay maybe 1000 or so electrum to use the forge Hyroen listed. It would be sort of silly for an experienced player, since weapons really aren't worth that much and are extremely easy to get once you have a decent deck, but for a newbie, being able to pay roughly an upgrade cost toward a second rare weapon of your element could be really helpful. Once a week seems more reliable than the Oracle, but still would make it a useless method for accumulating all the weapons. It would just help newbies have more options for how to spend their first thousand electrum.


EDIT: Although providing 2 upgraded pieces doesn't make any sense. It costs you 3000 to upgrade them, you might as well just get an unupgraded one and pay 1500 to upgrade the weapon yourself. Even if you already happened to HAVE two pieces upgraded, you could sell them, buy unupgraded versions, and have 2200 electrum leftover to upgrade the weapon.

Here's my idea:

The oracle button is replaced with a new button called Extras (insert better name here). In this would be the oracle and the forge, and you can visit both once a day. When you click the forge, you come to a screen that has two more buttons.

**If you click the first, you can trade those all your non-rare weapons (minimum of five) and gain one random rare weapon. This would cost 100 electrum.

**If you click the second, you can trade two different rare weapons for one "combined" weapon that gains the stats and element of one, and the cost amount and ability of the other. This would also cost 100 electrum.

****For example, if you combined an unupped arsenic and an unupped fahrenheit, you would either receive a 2 attack weapon with the ability fiery costing 3 , or a 3 attack weapon with the ability venom for 2

or more examples:
-combine titan and pulvy to create a 7 attack, 4 cost to play mono-gravity weapon with shatter...
-combine a pulvy and trident to get a 5 attack weapon for 3 earth with the trident's ability...

the possibility of turning those duo weapons into mono just wouldn't be right...

RavingRabbid, while I realized there were more combinations I tried to get the combinations that seemed most suitable to each weapon, not considering the others. These however were my personal beliefs, if you think other combinations are better, by all mean suggest them, I didn't fully think my idea through anyways.
