First off, there are plenty of threads on this topic ;)

As for a graveyard/discard pile... I am not sure where I stand. I would like to something that deals with discarded cards, but at the same time I don't want to see Elements go down the road of every other CCG that runs discard piles.

I would bet we are smart enough as a community to come up with something like a discard pile without it being specifically a discard pile.

I also said uncertain because but my reasoning is I'm not sure the game engine could work with one.

i just read  the thread , under general discussion, about the discard thing and thought this needs to be polled.

No, I do not think we need a grave. Mostly due to how few decks would ever use it thus making it an unnecessary drain on the game's resources.

However I would like some card recycling abilities (permission to steal granted)

A permanent the records the last card destroyed/used that can be turned into a copy of that card as an activated ability. (If card was a killed creature it turns into that creature on the field, if card was a spell it copies the spell)

A way to generate cards. (Instead of just drawing them. Similar to mindgate)

Cards that return to the hand when destroyed/used (obviously these cards should be made subpar unless reused multiple times)

There could be creatures "eating" creatures on your graveyard and gaining +1/+1 or something (element: darkness) and you could even go as far and make a shield that you can feed with creatures on your graveyard, making it defend you better or a trebuchet that shoots with dead, rotting creatures randomly inflicting infections on enemy creatures. I can think of a whole lot of cards that would require some sort of graveyard-system and I think it'd be a nice addition if it would be still different from Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh!

I guess it'd be a HUGE twist in the game mechanics, so it'd need LOTS of planning, and making of cards that use it somehow...
Also the fact that the non-graveyard system makes us different from the rest of the CCG, and it works well...
As I said, it needs LOTS of planning

If its possible to add one without taking to many recourses away from the rest of the game then yes, definitely. It would add allot of new decks and strategies to the game.

There is no reason to change the core of the gameplay.

I'd like to point out that Zanz has dismissed the idea of a graveyard.

His exact words:
[04:12:32]zanzarino: Not because graveyard is not a good idea it's just
[04:12:37]zanzarino: Soo common
[04:12:49]zanzarino: We can do better

I missed a place where he said no to it, but this gets the message across.

:death Maybe if there is a set of cards that revive destroyed ones.   :)) But it seems unlikely. :fire
