I know there already is a topic about the antimatter card, but this topic is about the effect, since antimatter isn't just limited to the card, but purple nymph and pandemonium can cause the effect too.
I have a simple suggestion, cause a negative effect creature to be effected by shields as though it were a regular attack. So a shield that reduces damage by 2, would reduce negative attacks healing by 2, too, creatures with negative attacks can be poisoned and burned by shields, etc.
Now the question is, which sides shields? I would actually recommend that the negative attack creature go against its owners shield. Since antimatter is effectively taking control of a creature, that would make the most sense, and it would make shields a counter to the antimatter effect.

Actually, grav shield stops Antimatter (I think). As for the rest, Shields reduce damage (-X damage). So Antimatter affecting shields actually heals the user more. So for a antimattered creature with 8 attack, with a titanium shield, it does 10 healing.
(-8-2=-10)

Oh? I don't remember seeing that. And that is the antimattered creature against its owners opponents shield, right? I am of course suggesting the opposite of this in at least two ways, against the controllers own shields, and reduces the healing, rather then increasing it, along with all other shield effects activating too.

Not true it ignores shield effects apart from wings, gravity shield and phase shield.

As I've said before, wouldn't you allow an antimattered creature to hit you? You can't do that with any of the shields Mini mentioned, though.

Essentially when your creature is reversed by antimatter, it is attacking you, it has been stolen by your opponent. Antimatter in some circumstances is like steal for creatures. So you should be able to defend against this attack from a creature that was one of yours till it was antimattered, with your shield.

I get what you're saying (but correct me if I am wrong).... if I antimatter one of my opponent's creatures and my opponent has a Phase shield in play, then his antimatter'ed creature won't heal me until his shield goes away, right? In other words, my opponent would use his shield to try and stop the effects of his antimatter'ed creature from reaching me.
If so, that's not a bad idea, but I never saw antimatter as an OP effect. Purple nymphs are hard to get a hold of, and even so, are hard to get, and keep, in play. The actual spell itself is balanced by cost and Pandemonium is too random to expect it to be effective. Besides, that would require more work to the game code and given the work load zanz may have, I'd prioritize the inclusion of new cards before something like this to happen.

No, your shields don't effect your creatures at all even if they are antimattered.

I know they don't currently do that, but what I was asking is if that's the suggestion TruePurple was going for.

Pandemonium does not cause Antimatter.
