Made this kind of suggestion with a card idea, but what if there were sub-types to a card. This could allow a lot more diverse card-making if cards were to act differently based on the type it targets.
For example, creature sub-types:
Token
Support (probably can be broken into other types)
Attack
Nymph
Dragon
Permanents and spells are partially done already, as we have weapons and shields, and pillars being exclusive to EQ targeting. Reflectivity separates damage and non-damage spells.
