I personally think Shard of Courage sounds better than Shard of Bravery. There might be an abbreviation conflict with Shard of Conscience if it get released, but we can easily have SoCg and SoCs respectively.

I personally think changing a name from one synonym to another is not worth the slight effort. This is especially true when it promotes confusion (Which SoS? Which SoC?).

Additionally Zanz personally suggested the abbreviation SoBe because it has a nice joke. SoCg does not have a joke.
