Sanctuary/Dissipation Field cancel. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=23083.msg293078#msg293078
« on: March 18, 2011, 04:37:29 am »
Just played with one of my decks:

(4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 596 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5c6 5c9 5io 5l8 5l8 5l8 5lf 5lf 5ll 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oi 5ok 5ok 5on 5on 5oo 5rj 5rl 5t2 5t2 5t2 61o 61o 61o 61o 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rq 6u0 6u2 6u3 7gp 7gq 7gr 7k2 7kc 7n5 7q8 7qc 7ri 80e 8pp)

and unfortunately found out to my dismay that if you play both Sanctuary AND Dissipation field at the sametime; the effects of sanctuary cancel out the dissipation field's absorbing of quanta for damage.

Just want to know if this is a known bug/fluke/whatever; or is this the 1st time this has been brought to anyone's attention?

(i apologize in advance if this has been brought up before.)

Sanctuary doesn't let anything change your quanta pool during your opponents turn. Since dissipation shield changes your quanta pool when creatures attack Sanctuary blocks it.

This was actually put in place as a patch to prevent indestructible dissipation shields.

P.S. You can actually post an image of a deck by clicking the icon with the stack of cards, then pasting the deck code into the code that appears. Like so:

Code: [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 596 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5c6 5c9 5io 5l8 5l8 5l8 5lf 5lf 5ll 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oi 5ok 5ok 5on 5on 5oo 5rj 5rl 5t2 5t2 5t2 61o 61o 61o 61o 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rq 6u0 6u2 6u3 7gp 7gq 7gr 7k2 7kc 7n5 7q8 7qc 7ri 80e

But couldn't the effects of whichever one was played first take precedence?

and thanks for the info for how to post deck images :)

Good day qazox,

This is not a bug,

Sanctuary was intended to negate the effects of Dissipation Shield (both unupped and upped)

ANY disturbance to quanta is negated with Sanctuary, that also includes the protective ability of Dissipation Shield.

Too bad we can't gve an opponent Sacntuary then. I'm guessing Sanctuary is unsteal-able and un-deflagratable/un-explodable also?

Sanctuary

1. IS STEAL-ABLE

2. IS DEFLAG/EXPLODE-ABLE.

You'll need to "protect artifact or enchant artifact" to stop steals/deflags/explosions that.

---

:) no card or ability can "give" a player something. (as of now)
I've yet to see a LV3 or higher attempt to steal/defrag/explode one, so i thought maybe it couldn't. Thanks for the info.

Dunno if this is an update but when the FG with dissapation shield steals my sanctuary, my pulveriser still gets absorbed BY MY OWN QUANTA POOL but my creatures all hit normally.

Sanctuary also prevents Solar Shield from giving me  :light quanta -- so it's not just dissipation shield/field that it interferes with, but any card (friendly or enemy) that affects your quantum pools on your opponent's turn.

On the other hand, the enemy's dissipation field using your quanta does sound like a bug. Do you know if it happens when the player does the same thing to the AI?
