Although I dislike the idea of a pvp filter, I think with some tweaks it would be a very fun addition to the game. A pvp ranking system would be more complicated and wouldn't add much at all.

I wouldn't mind having top teir decks to pit my deck against. And more importantly, it would create a pool of statistics for game balancing, and give something to do in between tournaments. You must suggest things going under the premise that it is balanced enough or will be, otherwise you validate the unbalance.

And this isn't the thread for me to prove to you how important a PvP ranking system is.

Your system exists only to avoid the overpowered, taking away the reason to balance the overpowered.

How about a score/mark filter?

Basically, if you are above 10000+ score, I don't want to play you. Then that can't be abused because even if you PWN everybody, your gain will still be low because of low score.

Or if you are below 10000 score, I don't want to play you because I don't like n00bs. That's better than banning cards. Maybe if only 1 type of card could be banned per game, but even then, most decks aren't supposed to be carrying 3 types of PC, so I still think 1 is slightly broken. Score filter seems likea good idea..

Also, Mark filter is another good idea. Tired of playing Time and Entropy-bows? Then just ban them. That can prevent abuse of the system, because mark has no effect on the cards inside, I can hold deflags with pretty much any mark, banning fire mark doesn't get around it.

I don't think this idea will help you get diverse decks.  As others have pointed out, because the opponents will also apply filters you will most likely not be able to play anybody or only complete newbies who don't know how the system works.

The best way to play against non-popular decks is to ask in chat for willing opponents or hold an event banning the decks you don't want.
