Yes.  Great idea.  Maybe you could unlock certain mats at certain scores...so players with higher scores could have "elite mats."

Or maybe incorporate that with the achievement concept. Unlock certain mats by EM'ing a FG, by beating all FGs at least once, by beating 5 half bloods in a row...etc.

"elite" maps bad. Achievement based maps good (so long as the achievements dont become "elite" maps). I still thing that a set of 12 should be available in the bazaar though

My inner cool-stuff-collector supports the idea. I'd especially love it if there were some mats with scenery on them.

Two more  :

-Perhaps a mat could cover the whole field background, unless both sides had them - in which case each mat would cover half the field.
-Some of these could be new quest rewards.

Building off of that, Zanz said he wanted to do something along the lines of daily quests.  Maybe mats could used as rewards there too.
