nymph sell value https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=7040.msg75790#msg75790

I personally think that the nymph sell value is WAY to high, imo it should be lowered to around 5~ and shards upped to 20.

But im sick and tired of all these: i won a nymph, wow it sells for900! $$ sell.
People just cant understand the true value of nymphs, either make them unsellable or lower the cost, i think that this is ruining alot for new ppl winning nymphs, I probably wouldve sold mine, if i didnt know how rare it was, and even if i tell people they are rare, they just wont listen.

Fooling people with the amount it sells for isnt good, its evil zanz! ^^

Then again, nymphs arent supposed to be sold, its silly, so do one of the two please :D

Also: please dont just vote, but write what u pick, and why.

If you want to sell them, sell them. The best way to learn is from your own mistakes (but the most painful as well).

I picked nothing. It's really all about free choice IMO. 900 electrum is a nice chunk of change and for the newbies in the game it really can make a huge difference. Honestly Nymphs for the most part are just novelty cards and most people really don't use them at all. Besides if i somehow managed to get more then 12 of one nymph i certainly want the ability to sell them for 900 electrum.

I really do understand the problem here. But ever since I first played Elements, suggestions have often been made to make it more 'simple' or 'easy,' and that's not how it should be.

As xDude aptly mentioned, there are two reasons nymphs really need to stay the same.
 - As a learning experience. Noobs need to look at the cards they get and decide 'Will I use this? Could I use 900 electrum more?'
 - As a worthwhile card. Nymphs are rare.....Very rare. So they need two uses. As a card that you keep, or as a very valuable thing to sell. I've sold more than half of the nymphs I've gotten...All because I know that I will not use them at all. I am very glad that I could sell them for 900, and make an upgrade that I actually find useful now, as opposed to a very valuable card that I won't use.

Well, making nymphs say, unsellable, doesnt mean its simpler or easier, it just benefits all the noobs and other players refrain from the dark descicion to rid themselves with these suparare cards.

And as far as those extra 900coins go, id rather farm FG's until i win 1card, farm ai3 for an hour or t50 for a few farms than sell a nymph, all these should quickly get u around 1k. And thus, i sit with this on my thoughts, would i sell a nymph, or spend lets say 1hour. is 1hour effort worth a nymph, and easily ill say YES every time someone asks me, regardless of what nymph it is.

Who wants to sell his nymph( although therĀ“s no reason to do that) shall sell the nymph. I think 908 is a good value, so that the temptation is not too high to sell them and the price shows that nymphs are something special.

P.S.
Why was the sell value reduced from 909 to 908 ? 909 was such a nice symmetric number.

It was reduced for those nymphs that now cost 8 quanta -- the sell value is 900 plus the quanta cost of the nymph. If you check the sell costs of your other cards, I think you'll find there are only a few values after subtracting the quanta cost. For the common cards, these base sell costs are 4, 16, 36, and 64; the difference between the buy and sell costs is half of the base sell cost. I haven't looked at all the elements yet -- but the last time I checked, this was true of all the commons in :air :fire :gravity :light :death @ :time :earth :water .

I also checked a few uncommons (farmable rares), which had a base sell cost of 144. (Is the base sell cost always the square of an even number?)

I voted for unsellable, because then people wouldn't accidentally sell it not knowing it was rare or just by misclicking.
