For Unstable Gas I was thinking of a complete change: methane ---> butane.

There is the standard and upgraded Aflatoxin in game.  The Malignant Cell, however is only in the unupped form.  It was called Cancer Cell during development.

It also has the abbreviation CC, which is perfect.  Upgraded Pandemonium is the ultimate creature control card. 
(Not necessarily the best, only the most true to the ideals of creature control.)
