i'm sorry... i don't like the new music... at all.

i think the old music is far superior and i miss it.   :'(

Exactly what do you like better about the old music? The solo guitar, or the fact that it sounded like it was recorded in a small, cramped space? It couldn't be the melody, because the current music is a direct arrangement of the old melody (a.k.a. the same thing).
Well yes, i did like the solo guitar.  The feel of the music has been changed by switching instruments and adding ambient sounds to the background.  It is boring now.  The guitar had some impact.  The melody never really had much of a hook, and now with the slow piano, it becomes very apparent.
Now i look like a mean criticizer.   ???

Music makes you feel a certain way, but it depends on what you associate that music with.

The old guitar made me imagine a baroque setting (which I really liked)

The new song makes me imagine final fantasy, as many have mentioned. While it is great we all recognize that kind of music, I am not sure that I want to associate elements with final fantasy. In fact that kind of music makes me specifically imagine Aeris/Aereth dying in Final Fantasy 7. I had nightmares about the cut scene as a kid haha.

I am fine with the new music but I personally like parts of the game that seems serious. Like vrt's pillar art which seems serious versus the magical rainbow banana pillar which seemed like a game piece out of candyland.

Same goes for the music. I hope any future music is serious and not reminiscent of other games... (not insulting the song or jmizzle, I think it's good.)

Justin Carpenter's melody has been around since the beginning with Zanzarino's game. I did not want to write something completely new, because the "Elements theme" would be lost. I am flattered that I have reminded so many people of Final Fantasy, although it wasn't my intention. However, I sincerely hope that people wouldn't think that the music isn't serious. What does that even mean? lol...

Wooh, I love piano!! It now sounds much better than the guitar. o.0
The piece sounds really majestic, but it is wasted on the intro. Put it when fighting the false gods or something, show how strong and scary they really are. xD

The false god fighting music pumps you up, but now I'm just really sick of it. >< Somehow, a piano feels like it would make it more real... or maybe just random cool bgms. :)

Anyway, I'm just sad that all the cool music is wasted on intro. I spend like 2 seconds typing the user and password, and the music just goes poof. Leaves me in self-hate for clicking the login button. ::)

The music makes me stop and listen at the login screen for a minute or so.

Final Fantasy 7 wasn't the only Final Fantasy with the prelude.  Also, I don't see how J's music and the prelude relate at all except that they are both piano.  J's features a melody that uses various chords, while the prelude features just basic, repeating scales of different octaves.

Aerith's death scene did not feature the Final Fantasy "Prelude," but "Aerith's Theme" - which isn't a piano piece, but does include a piano in parts, among the orchestra.  The style is somewhat similar in places to the new intro music.

Great call on Square's part to leave her theme playing during the subsequent battle - switching over to the boss theme would have killed the mood completely.  Instead, like many people, when I fought Jenova-Life for the first time, I was glaring at my TV, determined to avenge her.  One of the greatest moments in gaming, if not THE greatest.

Oh, I see what you mean now.  However, with that logic, all slow piano pieces are similar to the intro.

Which isn't its purpose, which should be to set the mood while playing the game. D: I want a complete musical revamp featuring epic pieces of music while playing this epic game. That way I'll be completely addicted to elements.  :P

Should we perhaps make a poll for this?

Why?  The new music fits perfectly for the intro, and is completely optional to listen to.  If you truly don't like it, just mute it similar to how I have been muting the FG music since the beginning of :time.
