Anyone notice the new login music? Sounds really Final Fantasy like to me. I quite enjoyed it actually.

It's... so much more soothing. >.>

I love it actually.  :D (Now if there was even more INTENSE battle music for fighting FG's and the like, then I'd be :o)

I was listening some music, opened Elements, and clicked on Settings-Sound (because with music playing, the sound effects are... wierd)

... but hey... where's the guitar ?

Music : pause. Sounds : on...

Awesome new intro music !
Went AWOL. No reason.
Now silent. May return.

This is pretty much exactly what I expected when I heard the word "piano" on the chat.

No offense to jmizzle7 but I'm not a big fan of this intro music. In my opinion intro music should be something epic that pumps you up and makes you want to login and go to war. This piano music is waaaay too mellow, too generic, and makes me want to go to sleep.

I would have gone with something that has string instruments and kind of "rises". Example:

That's of course too complex and loud (of copyrighted) but you get the idea.

No offense taken. I'm saving the "epic, pump up music" for the false god music. To me, the login screen is the portal to another world - the world of Elements. The simplistic, rustic design of the GUI doesn't really lend itself to upbeat war music for a login screen. If anything, the music should help to transport the player to this fantasy world. However, preparing oneself to do battle with the self-proclaimed gods of Elements does lend itself to epic war music.

Yes, I know what you mean. I'll try to explain again.

This is all marketing basically. The purpose of online intro music should be to build up interest and pump up players. Some traditional games have this kind of mellow login music, but players have already bought those games and there is no need to sell the game to them again. Elements on the other had has to sell itself to each new player that visits the login screen. This is why the whole login screen experience is very important.

This piano music you did is great, but I don't think it's great intro music. It would be more suitable for example after you login, kind of like this "calm before the storm" lobby music. Then when you went and fight False Gods, there would be an epic battle music that would be a nice contrast to this mellow piano lobby music.

I also think that the login screen should have some kind of graphics to show new players what Elements is all about. Currently there's no information basically, only the login text fields. Hm.. I think I will start a topic about this.

Maybe it's not what SG was looking for, and maybe it would work better in the main section of the game, but it is so much better than the original guitar. I even found myself refreshing to hear it again. Which I would never, EVER do with the guitar...thing.

Yes!  It does sound Final Fantasy-esque to me as well.  Something similar to the opening piano number from Final Fantasy X (To Zanarakand (
)).  I love most of Uematsu's music too!

No offense taken. I'm saving the "epic, pump up music" for the false god music.
Wow, jmizzle!  I never knew you were a composer.  Congratz on the song.  I'm really digging it.  I normally turn off the sound and change the settings to Low before I even login.  But this time I refreshed a several times just to hear it, lol.
