Title: New Idea for Elements: Saved Decks
Post by: grindpower on December 13, 2010, 08:28:59 am
Does it get annoying when you have to keep browsing through your cards to change your deck?

Well wouldn't it be good if you could save a deck. You could have a section on the menu called "saved decks" and when you open it up it comes up with all the decks you saved.

You can give them small names such as "shrieker rush" to tell them apart.

It would be easier than codes too. Then you wouldn't have to remember/copy and paste your code, you could just click on a previously saved deck and it would turn into your current one.

I hope Zanzarino considers this.

You have codes for saving decks. You can PM all your decks to yourself in order to get them quickly. The problem with your solution is that it would take a lot of the database's space, perhaps too much.

Even though your idea is valid and it would make things bit easier, coding such saved-decks menu would take some time, and there are more important things to be done than that (bug fixes, developing new content, etc.)

I have saved some deck codes to my e-mail account as a draft message. It's not too hard to fetch codes there, and since every time you want to play Elements you need to be online, so you also have access to your e-mail.

Patch Notes from Elements 1.20

New Import/Export deck interface; can be used for:
- Saving as many decks as you want in a simple text file (you can use notepad)
- Sharing your decks with other players in chat rooms, forums etc.

Why not saving multiple deck in the database?
- It would be more user friendly but...
- The number of decks saved in the database has to be very small (1 or 2) because of files size issues
- It would be impossible to share your deck's code with other users
