first turn silence https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=20402.msg258943#msg258943

It was my one game agains HB. It put silence in it's first turn. I pick up my first card and I have to drop one at the end of my turn. Silence is good card if I cannot play any card if we don't have counterspell cards. Somebody think on it what happen if opponents play nightmare and silence in one turn?

What exactly is the problem? I don't understand.

He used Silence first turn and you were forced to discard a card? That's not a problem right, that's good use of the silence card. It's supposed to slow people down and make them unable to play cards.

It costs him one card and quanta to use silence, it costs you one turn and possibly a card (when you have to discard one). Same goes for nightmare. These cards aren't great as it is, now you are complaining about the only time they actually work well.

I don't have problem and it is not bug I guess. But I think Silence as counter card. Counter card means you can interupt my spell or here you cannot play any card agains my spells. But in first turn it cause one card dropping. It is huge advantage compare to Silence cost. I think it should be "you cannot play in first turn" or if I forced to not play card I don't have to drop.

I disagree.

First of all it's not a huge advantage, you lose one card... Secondly, this is what Silence does, it's meant to do this and it's not OP.

I understand when it annoyed you though, but that's something different  :D
