Kael, what does vacuum contain by default?
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/vacuum
2. an enclosed space from which matter, esp. air, has been partially removed so that the matter or gas remaining in the space exerts less pressure than the atmosphere ( opposed to plenum).

Vacuum isn't a Container, it is the state of a container.

I would continue discussing too, but its too exhausting in english, especially using technical terms I always need to look at leo.org  ;) For example normally you will not use words like "pulling test" if you talk with somebody in english. Or try this:  :))
Der Zugversuch ist das wichtigste Verfahren der mechanischen Werkstoffprüfung. :P
"The tensile test is the most important method of mechanical Testing."

What does Tensile strength have to do with Void?

So, in your philosophy, there is no such thing as an "empty container" that never had anything in it to start with?
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

I can't think of a real life example, so no there is no empty container that never had anything in it to start with.
As soon as it was defined as a container it had something contained within it.

Hmmm, nothing. :))
I just needed a word I dont know in english, but I know what void is so I randomly took "Zugversuch". In this thread I needed to look how to express "Grenzwert von rechts/links", but it was simple "from the right/left"..... often its not such a simple 1 by 1 translation so I better look before.
I just wanted to say when I explain something in mechanical engineering or maths I know what I am talking about, but I never learned technical terms in english(during my schooltime).
Do you understand german or do you simply used leo.org or something similar?

I'm good at research. http://translation.babylon.com/german/to-english/

Seems easy enough to me.
3. something that is nonexistent.
A Void is a thing that exists so it is not nothing.

I think pretty much everyone else will disagree with you on this.

Ah, whatever. If we change the name of that element from "Void" to "Nothingness", are you happier? I'm not saying we should have any new elements, I'm just talking about the name.

Guess so. Problem is if it is Nothing, then it wouldn't have any cards. Giving it any cards would make it something.

I say nay to new elements.

Voids do not exist wherever the laws of quantum mechanics apply (in our experience of the universe, everywhere), because if a void (no matter nor energy whatsoever) existed in space then we would be able to identify a position which had no momentum, violating the Heisenberg uncertainty principle.

Anyway, I propose that any new element that is added be called "Heart".
