Hi im to the forum, not veteran to this particular  game but im playing TCGs for a long time, so i believe i can have a rounded oppinion about game balance/fun/fairness/competition factors.

Ofc I dont believe my opinions alone are enough so i expect/request feedback of all kind as long as it is constructive and has valid arguments.

1)Immortality/Immaterial
When i first played this game There was only protect artifact, Morning star and the 2 Ether Creatures having this ability. Also Anubis could cast this and i thought he was kinda imba back then. Thankfully he was expensive and he needed to be in a 2collored deck.

Now there is the spell "Quintessence" and the Nymph that duplicates the spells effect.

My point is that Immortal Creatures with control abilities have no way to be countered except 2 shields in the whole game. Immortal Oty, Immortal Mind Flayer etc. When something like that enters the board it ruins the competition.

I believe there is apoll about Oty being imba out there. From my poin of view, Its not Oty the problem...

My solution: Immortal -> Immaterial/Phasing
Immaterial/Phasing -> 50% Chance to evade an effect when targeted. This way you will be able to protect your creatures but not make them gamebreaking.

Immortal and Phase Dragon dont need to change since they only do damage. The have Immortality. The spell and the Nymph will cast Phasing making the creature immaterial not immortal.

Ill wait to hear some feedback and then edit for my next suggestion.

i do agree that quintessence does change things a lot and does seem to favor rainbow decks. If that Phasing were to take over for immaterial idk how many people would like that. From what i have seen and others have stated that the shields that have a % like fog shield and the :darkness shield is that even if its 50% it still seems higher (90%). So even if phasing were implemented i think it still would seem like they are exactly the same with a small chance that they would get hit by something.
I believe there are some card ideas / forum threads about making cards that remove immaterial status. either that or we need more things that affect immaterial so its not a huge "gamebreaker"

Also, there are more shields that affect immaterial.. Fog, :darkness shield, Thorn Carapace, fire shield, diamond shield still reduces damage, turtle shield does bubble them, ice shield does freeze them. It isnt like they dont have any way of dying.
