Because that's too complicated :)

I would make it mulligan work like this- discard your hand and draw 7 new cards. That would really make you think about using it- do you throw away the great cards in your hand in hopes of getting a pillar?

Actually, discarding 7 cards seems drawback enough for me, as I usuallly use only 30 card decks.

That seems like the direction to go, scale it. It could still use some work though.

It's been suggested before that it could cost 5HP to mulligan. That way, if you do it too much...you die.

What if you were to have one card discarded randomly from your hand for every ten cards in the deck, rounded up, and then you got to reshuffle the remaining cards into the deck and redraw?

Or an option to "lock card" for 500 Electrum. It makes you always have it in your starting hand. Limit of 2-3 locked cards.

Both the posts above mine, great ideas. However, lock card should cost maybe ~700, and lets say you have three locked in, then only 57 other cards shuld fit in your deck, even though lock card woundn't show as a card in gameplay, or need to be played, but on the 'your deck' page, you just pair it with another card.

I've been playing Elements for some weeks now, and I have to agree that a mulligan feature would be a really good idea.

Good and bad hands should certainly have an effect on the game (after all, that's why you have a randomly selected hand in the first place), but far too often, especially in higher-level games, you draw a hand with no pillars, making you dead before you get enough quanta out to play your first spell.  Not fun.

I'd quite happily simply give each player a single mulligan opportunity (at no disadvantage, with their hand simply reshuffled into the deck and redealt), but having more than one mulligan opportunity with some disadvantage could be cool too.

Reshuffling and redrawing with a reduced hand-size for each mulligan sounds like a workable solution, actually.

But yes, certainly a much-needed feature, I feel. :)

It should be 2k to lock, or else people could just lock 3 cards and have them from the start.

I like the "lock card" idea.

700 would be too cheap though. Why should such a great ability cost less than an upgrade?

Because this would really un-balance PvP even more as the cost gets higher, and it takes up deck space, and it has a two-three card limit.
