Let's get some new art - Shields

Should I even ask how this is a shield?

All those little points of light surround the elemental protecting it from harm.  It's like the Liedenfrost effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leidenfrost_effect) they showed on Mythbusters (http://mythbustersresults.com/mini-myth-mayhem) one time.

To be totally honest, I don't see anything against looking at some of the current art and see if it still fits. Don't get me wrong, those who put time into the making of the art need, and deserve, credit, but as with many things, sometimes this kind of thing needs to be periodically looked at and changed to allow for the evolutionary process to continue advancing the game.

The art on the Jade Shield always struck me as nothing more than a spore which tends to confuse me at times because I think I am looking at Thorn Carapace. On that, I'd expect to see something spore-like. I am all for pursuing new ideas that takes this game to higher levels and I honestly look at the new pillar/tower art as a step in a positive direction. I'd love to see the Cockatrice get a makeover as I feel like I am Billy witchdoctor summoning Super Ultra Mega Chicken everytime I play an upgraded trice!

true i think some cards need to be changed i personally would love different artwork for every card when it is upgraded which helps me recognize it better

I think the art of all cars should be redone.
Not the concept of the art, but only to improve, puting shades and lights. The new cards are looking much better than the old ones.

This old art...hurt my eyes.        This new art looks great, with shadows, lights and contrasts.


Look the difference, the old one looks like a sticker.

Also agree that upgraded cards should get improved art.

well why dont you just ask those who did the art for those older cards to redo them? id assume/hope they would have kept them somewhere for future reference. im sure they could just update them instead of new art per say. i wouldnt mind if some did get new art and i do like the way the new cards look.

They were just made in Spore. They can't make "real" art like vrt does.

Spore is a computer game. Artists like vrt have things to do and shouldn't be needed to update the art in elements they should volunteer and not be asked in the first place.

ok... well.. idk. like i said i wouldnt mind doing it but i do not have the ability to make them.. well at least well enough that is. i guess let the community update the art.
