None of the super-rare cards actually factor into the metagame. I still haven't seen any successful nymph decks or decks that were greatly effected by marks. Ls/antimatter isn't good enough to beat out ccyb, and unless higurashi gets 14 aether marks and goes mono aether, I don't think marks will make much different.
Air nymph is actually very useful in a slightly modified version of ccyb and there are a few other decks where nymphs can be useful as well(light nymph in RoL/Hope for example) but I agree they are nothing game-breaking or essential to have in either case and overall I think they are good for the game. I know I always did everything I could to login at least once a day so I could check the oracle even when I wasn't really playing the game much if at all otherwise. I wouldn't mind seeing a new way to earn them other than pure luck or winning tournaments(something like a spin with small chance to win one for a 10 game win streak on platinum or giving one out every so often to the top arena decks) but I do think having at least a few cards which are actually rare is good and any ways that they can be obtained should be designed to keep them that way. As for the risk of people leaving the game because of nymphs...if they're really gonna get that upset because they can't have EVERYTHING right away..do we really want too many people like that anyway?
