Just gonna ask, would you rather the game be mirco transaction like some online games?
there isnt anything ingame atm that would be micro transactionable from my vantage point.. rare cards are obtained threw top50, and spins vs ai randomly. nymphs are threw random oracle spins and tourny's, as well as marks, and i dont see them putting a price tag on those two cards.

only way there could be a micro transaction would be for new cards that are not implemented yet...and they would have to be rediculously OP, which would affect balance, and make everyone HAVE to buy them to even compete with those with them already.. and i highly doubt people would buy them or that concept.. and it would probably destroy this game.

people play games like this, and magic, and yugioh, because they want a deck no one else has, or at least base it around a couple cards they really like. with only 100 cards ingame.... it is IMPOSSIBLE to do this.
You could always donate some money to the game as the games you mentioned you have to pay so if you want more cards be willing to donate some money so he can get round to developing some more cards.

And whoever mentioned that all games are practically grinds dressed up got me trying to think of one which isn't the same thing over and over again (without ending) and it's quite hard to think of one.

Hey Icybraker, I seriously doubt you could bore me with an explanation of why I am wrong.  I bet it might even have the opposite effect of me laughing my @$$ off.   If you have one, please share.   Why did you even bother posting in this thread?  Do you have any constructive criticism, anything marginally intelligent to add to this discussion?  Or do you just like to express disagreement and pass insults?   Monkeys can do that.  Have you ever seen a monkey throw poo.  Do you notice any resemblance?

We don't need people who do nothing but complain and accuse.

Do us all a favor and kindly show yourself out.
Really I can leave, wow?  I had never thought of that!   Quitting a game I like because I find issue with certain aspects?...how....incredibly..un helpful.

I'm sorry but this is not a complaint, it's me pointing out what seems to me to be an obvious shortcoming in the game, because I do like it, I do want to help improve it, and I do want more players who play to stick around and add a stronger competition base to the game.  My own opinion is that players like you are the ones who should take a hike.

Akromat - I'm confused, do you want me to quit too, or do you want to hear me out?  Also I think the part where you said "At no point in any of this thread did you offer one piece of constructive advice" might sound a little bit silly after I finish.  Asking nicely also works really well, fyi.  I also do grasp the concept of end game thanks (not sure of how you deduced that I dont)...but I dont share your glee for farming, and have hardly ever thought it necessary, since I consider fighting other players the more entertaining aspects of the game, and fighting computer ai the less.   And farming players doesn't get old :)

I do have plenty of ideas, I don't mind sharing them.

The original intent of this thread was to see if other people shared similar thoughts first

All sarcasm aside...I don't mind sharing ideas, hopefully everyone else can add something positive to the debate, rather than flinging poo.
If you think I'm wrong, don't just say I'm wrong, explain yourself.

For now I will keep them simple, there really is no need to go further at the moment.  Also I do have a bias towards a dislike in fighting computer opponents.  They are too predictable and fighting them repeatedly is a bore.  I know that everyone doesn't necessarily share that same viewpoint.  Some of these ideas might be suggested as a way to decrease the amount of time playing vs the computer, in order to have more time for pvp.

-Lose the slot machine.  Incredibly frustrating method of reward dispersal.

-Add variation to False God decks, switch some cards for other cards, creating a slightly different experience each time.  Players don't use the same deck all the time, why should the computer?

-Design in other ways to beat false gods, other than using the same basic rainbow decks.  There are many ways to tweak this, but would most likely take more new cards, or more card tweaking.  And I'm sure that's a big enough project already, and probably a discussion for a new thread.

-If the player you fight in a pvp match has upgraded cards, let you roll for them.

-Increase pvp rewards!

-The grind in this game really can be eliminated completely with increased reward rates, of course this would have to be much higher than it is now...but I mean really, when you start beating false gods regularly, why should it take so much time to get upgraded cards?  When you get a rainbow false god killing deck, most of your new upgraded cards aren't even used for fighting them,  but because you get them at a snails pace, you are forced to spend more time fighting AI, than playing against other players.

-Possibly let you choose the false god you want to play.  Give a broader range of cards to choose from when you win (Not SLOT Style)  Allowing you to have greater control over the cards you receive, therefore requiring less selling of cards you dont want, only to get partial card back.

I can keep going and going, ideas are a dime a dozen, that only took a couple minutes, but I will let you monkeys fling poo on those ones first before I add more.

me donating has nothing to do with the speed of development in this game. me giving 5-20 bucks doesnt make zanz code by himself any faster. nor does it give him any more inititive to do so.

and who is to say i havent already donated? and what does that have to do with anything whatsoever? and what do i get from donating? they took out the donate and get a card thang... so other than hey i like your game, here is some charity.... what is the point?

you people really need to look outside of your little box you look threw.

me and this dude are telling you things 75% of your player base are afraid to tell you because you treat them like shit, and do exactly what your doing in this thread, in every thread, and even in chat.

and if i want more cards, donate? are you serious? this game has been in development for how long and it only has 100-125 cards? with hundreds of card ideas posted by free playing members every day?

get your heads out of your asses.

Miniwally - any game that has a player vs player element, has at least a portion of the game that is not repetitive and not a grind.  The more you focus on that rather than the farming aspect, the more entertaining the game is.
The dressed up grinds you describe are games that are designed to keep you paying and playing.  Warcraft is the perfect example.  Unfortunately, that game could be so much more than it is....but fortunately for blizzards pocketbooks, they created a system that keeps you grinding, so you keep paying.

Did you ever play mario kart, smash brothers or the like?  Those games are incredibly fun, you hardly ever play against the computer after a few go throughs, and no grinding at all is required to make the game fun, or to make multi player fun.  I really wish more games would copy Nintendos excellent multiplayer experiences.

Grinding was introduced in games as a way for the companies who make those games to make more money.  Considering we don't pay to play this game, outside of donations, whats the point.

Every player vs player experience is different.  Focus on making that the center of your game, the grind all but disappears, and the fun only increases.

Well, that's not right at all.
I rarely play with other people on Mario Kart and smash brothers. I love playing against the computer because the game itself is fun.

Grinding wasn't introduced to make more money, at least, not solely for that reason. It was introduced to make games longer, so you keep playing them more, so you don't just blaze through a game and beat it quickly. Grinding extends the life of a game.

Elements has to have grinding or else the game would simply fall flat on its face. I agree there should be more added to PvP sections to make it more fun for people who complain about grinding too much, but if it weren't for the grinding of elements, no one would play this game for a very long time at all.

I agree, any game with no defined end will have a grinding aspect to it. Runescape, WoW, farmville, you name it, there's grinding. So complaining about the amount of grinding is stupid. In any case, no-one is forcing you to grind. You could quit the game rather than mindlessly complaining about it. Grinding in any game can be fun and varied. In Elements, you can just change your deck, opening up new strategies and making you have to think harder. You can spend time trying to build your own deck for certain purposes. You can make decks to annoy people in PVP. The game has a fair amount of variety.
More cards are being added all the time, so that opens up more strategies. Looking at the deck suggestion threads on this forum, a large quantity of them revolve around Fractal, a card released in the most recent update. Every update makes more gaming opportunities.

Grinding can be considered to be boring, but it doesn't have to be. It's not like the game developers are out there to make the game frustrating and tedious. That's just your viewpoint, and it is heavily inaccurate.

If you find the game boring still, participate in PVP tournaments, challenge Masters, make CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions on the forums. Don't just loud mouth away

pretty much any game has grinding. If a game has no upgrades, then there is simply skill, in which ccase, there is grinding. However, in a game like this, some newb shouldnt be able to appear and beat someone just because he thought up some super strategy no one thought up before. This is a game where you need to earn what you get, this method is by grinding, its a card game, what do you expect?
