I have never seen an otyugh take down a god by its self otherwise why aren't there decks with 6 quints and 6 otys if they're so good, they just can't get up enough attack to take down the gods.
There was a deck out there that relied on Phase shields for survivability flying Titans to do some damage and an Oty or 2 to lockdown the FG.

that's still not an otyugh taking down a god by itself, and according to that the oty isn't quinted (however, I believe in the deck you're on about it is).

If the enemy has an immortal 0/5 Otyugh there is only one way to remove it - feed it with a smaller creature.
But then, the Otyugh can often get other creatures.
So I would suggest to make the upped Otyugh to a 1/5 creature and the unupped version to a 1/3 creature.
This way, it can be removed by Fire Shield and Thorn Carpace, before you have creatures out.
Its not Oty thats problem there, its Quint. Solution to that is not to buff Oty, solution is to get a counter to immortality. 2 shields are not really a counter to it and quinted anything with momentum cant die.

Otyugh doesn't need further balancing for the time being. It got nerfed slightly because of the introduction of poisonous creatures--consuming 1 makes Otyugh 'hungry', 2 or more makes it dead meat. These are counters to quint, although you probably would think that they are not widespread enough. But seriously, otyughs aren't that overpowered  :(

Excessive use of semantics makes you cool, did you know that?

Let me give you an example. Take PuppyChow's rainbow deck.

Code: [Select]
52n 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u6 71b 71b 74b 74b 77f 7do 7do 7gp 7n3 7q5 7q5 7q8 7t9 80h 80h
Remove both Otyughs.
Fight Miracle.

I seriously doubt you'll ever win.

This is what I'm talking about. Otyugh is the reason False Gods were killable in the first place, and the reason why rainbow FG decks exist. That very aspect of the card, and the fact that it can be carried over to any realm of the game, is why people hate it.

Miracle has NO creature control, NO permanent control.  Give a Fractal RoL Hope deck a Time mark and an Eternity and you can beat Miracle without an Otyugh.

Sure, THIS deck can't do it without Oty.  That's because this deck's strategy makes good use of Oty.  Rainbows aren't everything.  You'd be hard pressed to run that deck without the Bone Walls, they must be OP too.  Or the Eternity.  Or the quantum towers - seriously, every rainbow deck uses some quantum towers.

If you don't like getting your creatures eaten, I suggest you use bigger creatures.  Maybe a flying Titan deck?  Otyughs don't scare me, even if they have a little yellow infinity symbol in the corner.

I agree, although I dont like Otys when I have a bunch of low life attackers in my hand.

Dont try to kill it. Wait as long as possible without losing the chance of defeating the opponent (I mean dont wait until you have 5 hp) and then overwhelm your opponent with much creatures.
And even with 1/5 vs FireShield it would stay on 1/4 if he is able to eat each turn and if not because you have only tougher creatures you shouldnt worry about the Oty at all.
In addition it would die after 5 turns without eating, thats not really fast and noit helpful.
