I've been playing a lot of games recently where "immortal" cards play a big part, and I've been gradually coming to the conclusion that they are currently a slightly unbalanced feature, especially given the ease with which cards can be made immortal using an Anubis.
But more to the point, there's somewhat of an inconsistency between the description of the ability and its effects: "cannot be targeted" is fine, and makes a lot of sense; but in practice, the ability currently makes the card immune to
all effects, even those not targetted at the creature.
What I'd like to suggest would be that non-targetted effects should still affect immortal creatures, meaning that, for instance, they could still be damaged using cards like
Fire Rain, and affected by all shields (such as
Procrastination).
In fact, the way that the description of the ability clashes with its effects actually makes the inability to use mass-effect cards against immaterial creatures seem like frustrating buggy behaviour, rather than an intended feature.
I think that it would make much more sense for a "non-targetable" property to only apply to targetted abilities, as this would add a fun new element to gameplay, in allowing there to be at least some way to halt groups of immortalised creatures in basic gameplay.
Just some thoughts.
