If you don't have something nice/productive/funny to say, don't say it at all.
If you're incapable of seeing how what I said is productive than that's your fault, not mine. Please take your own advice.
In fact... you might expect more nymph-like cards in the future, cards that will do something that is already in the game, but in a different way. My goal is to have people actually creating their very own deck instead of everyone playing with the very same deck. That means that there is a price to pay: the chance that you will never get to have a specific card -ever- because it simply is too rare.
Cool. Thanks for letting us know that Elements will never be a game designed for people who like fair competition. Anyone interested in the PvP aspect of Elements might as well quit now since the developer has basically come out and said he doesn't care about PvP at all.
Wow, That was mean.
*snip*
Yep, that was certainly productive. I'll analyze your whole argument next if want me too.  ::)

I took quite the opposite view on this. I feel zanz meant he wanted MORE diversity in the game play. And in any good game you play, The longer you play the better equipment/cards/levels you should have.
As a game of strategy, if not all strategies are readily accessible to all players the game is not balanced. Imagine playing basketball except your team isn't allowed to pass the ball while the other can. That is essentially what Zanz has openly admitted he's willing to do to Elements.
Furthermore, I view Elements as a card game. Can you name any healthy card game with an active community where you can't just buy the cards you need for a deck from a secondary market? I bet you can't.
I bet you can't name any healthy card game that doesn't attempt to make some cards rare or productive. Also, cards that aren't immediatly accesible are like higher level equipment in RPG's - except in RPG's it's even "worse" because if you're not of high enough level you can't even use that golden hammer of doom that you got.  It is fair to have certain strategies be limited because in real life you may not have the best options available to you unless you go the extra mile.  Same here, except instead of putting extra effort in you play the game more.

We've had this discussion before on Marks being individual cards. If you're going to debate here then do it politley.

The chances are still evenly distributed, no? And, as far as I can tell, our current nymph situation doesn't seem to be much of a bother to most.

There is a huge difference between rare and "lulz there is no way to obtain this without hours of precious time spent grinding!"

Comparing Elements to an RPG is insulting to the potential of Elements. The only people who play Final Fantasy are anti-social fat white guys who want to be asian and overly androgynous asian people who want to be white emo guys. Elements could potentially offer a fun, interactive, competitive, and social gaming environment, but Zanz clearly doesn't want that.
Really? Your still going on about it?

Tell you what, Perhaps if you offer too pay to play AND maybe a thousand dollars a card, Zanz might make an exeption out of you!

I was a mod at mtg. First thing I must tell you, NO CARDSS OR GAMEPLAY WAS FREE!, second. NOBODY had EVERY card. We estimated it would have been something like 50k to own every card. So i suggest you find a game where they GIVE you every card right out. And when you get tired of playing spades you are welcome too come back.

I didn't say everyone should have every card. I said all cards should be readily available. In MTG you can trade and dump money into buying specific cards so acquiring rares is never an issue. Unfortunately for EtG the only way to acquire cards is tedious grinding, and Zanz wants to make the grind even worse. I honestly don't see how you could defend his choice other than by hating fairness.

In this you are mistaken. The most obvious is The black lotus era alpha edition. (first banned on line, then later given out as tournament prizes. (rarely)

AND could only be used in "classic" (alpha series) FUN decs. And never in tournaments. I guarantee you NOBODY will sell theres. It IS a prestige statement.

I decided to do some googling and you're wrong. Black lotus isn't banned online because black lotus has never existed in MTGO, in fact none of the power 9 has ever been released on MTGO.  Either you're lying to try and gain some ground you know you don't have or to impress people who don't know better. MTGO doesn't even have a set called alpha series.

In the off chance you didn't mean MTGO (which makes "banned on line" an odd inclusion), there are two unlimited formats one which has a banned list and the other has a restricted list. You can also find black lotusses on ebay fairly easily. So you'd still be wrong.

So the only one of your lies you're willing to defend is that it was given out at tournaments? You're not going to defend your made up set name? A quick search on Google will show you that the only prizes ever given out through MTGO are tournament invites, tix (I guess that's in game currency? I really don't know), promos which consist of cards in the set being previewed, and packs. The pack/promo that this supposed black lotus would come from is "alpha series" as you have claimed, and the set has never existed at any point in time. So when was this black lotus tournament? What was it called?

Ladies, let's settle down here.
Tasted the world, seen more than enough.

Ladies, let's settle down here.
Please.

While I'm not the one judging or enforcing the rules here, it couldn't hurt if we cut down on the agressive language here, even if it is for the most part devoid of stereotypes, swearing and other counterproductive things.

By all means, keep debating, but accusing tones, general agressiveness and posting comments to deliberately make others seem stupid/ignorant should have nothing to do with it. Thank you in advance.

I'm not going to argue with you, I have nothing to prove/gain from this.

Or do I care less. You looking for confrontation and I'm unwilling to give it to you. So believe what you wish.
