How would you guys like it if players could buy nymphs?

I was just wondering if Zanz is actually getting enough support from donators to maintain his server costs. So I put myself in his position and thought that I'd consider making it possible for the people to buy nymphs and marks. After all ETG is a really really great game and I admire Zanz that he still regularly updates it and even implements new features - and he's doing it for free too! I think any developer as dedicated as him deserves some support from the community for his invested time. On the other hand I would hate to see ETG become a game you have to pay for in order to fully enjoy it (like the thousands of semi-free games out there of which many aren't even half as entertaining as ETG - I have never paid and would never pay for any of these).

So what would happen if we could buy Nymphs? We are now at a level where most of the experienced players have several nymphs anyway. So I don't think that the paying player would have that much of an advantage over the rest of the community, but at the same time he/she'd be able to skip the months of work collecting all rare content needed to make the deck he/she would like simply by supporting Zanz with a few dollars (supposing you could also buy rare cards like weapons and miracles - if you can buy nymphs why not less rare cards too?). Don't get me wrong: I think the current level of progression is totally fine and reasonable - I'm not even sure if I'd buy stuff if I was able to - but it can be quite tedious visiting the oracle every day to get one random nymph every few weeks (more so if you don't come here every day like me). It would enable newer players to catch up with the others more quickly and maybe we'd even have a few more challenging players running around in PVP which would be a good thing, right? (I'm not saying that there aren't already challenging players or that I'm getting bored cause I'm top notch - quite the contrary ^^) I'm not sure about marks though as it might have a serious impact on gameplay if there was more of them.

I'd like to hear your opinion on this.

@Zanz: But if you should ever implement this, please don't smack a window in our face on every other page telling us to buy stuff. And also please don't change the current level of progression in favor of paying players.

The fact that element is a totally free game is what draws me to this game and admiration towards Zanz. There is already 1 million freemium games out there, so yeah. After all, you CAN donate if you want to and it does give you shards.

In my opinion, in a game like elements, rares should always stay rare. It's a shame that shards are as common as they are. I'd like nymphs and possibly new released rares to stay rare.

No to buying rares. Not now, not tomorrow nor in the future.
But I would be open to people donating and getting a giftcode of X amount of bazaar cards. Its not feasible to force any working people to spend hour upon hours to grind when they play casually and doesn't progress. There have been some excellent posts on this subject earlier by people affected.

I was unemployed and could grind like a madman last year and I can now reap the rewards of that while I'm working. The benefit of a fully upped account compared to a new account is staggering and even just between a couple of decks around 100 and the 1500 cards or so of all unupped is very big for the casual player. The act of getting 2-4 copies of most unupped non rare cards should possible via donating imho.

Actually it might be good,but in packs,like rare packs for 10k or so with 5-10% to win a Nymph and 2-3% to win a mark.

buy with real money rares, mark and nimph? no please i like the idea that in this game real money don't help.
if you make a donation you kann have 1 shard that is fine a little ricompense for peopel that support the game and some little more donation i think that help zanz keep the game free.
rare have to rest rare and the only way to take it is play and grind the game, maybe give the rare als recompence with the score?
ex. 20k score a shard, 50k score a rare (weapon, pharaon, miracle, ...) 100k score a nimph or mark
that help peopel that realy play the game and peopel that play and grind are peopel that like the game and who like make donation, or not?

Yes x infinity. The only reason I stopped playing this game is because of card unattainability. As long as everything can be reasonably acquired I'd be back on board.

In favour of buying cards with sparkly or different art.
Same stats, no impact on game but signifies that the person helped the developer out.
Also it would look cool and still probably be rare enough to make someone type something to the player.
(which is the reaction you want from rare cards)

I like that idea. Maybe like a player marketplace where each player could submit whatever card they want, not just rares, for sale. It might be cool if the player could select the electrum price for each card they submitted...In other words: I like!
