[04:19:56]zanzarino: People always complain because it is not possible to make everyone happy

Sorry, Malduk. Guess you're just one of the people that isn't happy :D.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. And if someone is pointing something out on suggestions and feedback forum, doesnt mean his opinion is worthless "just because he's a complainer".

Yes, I am not happy with current nymph system, I'm quite frustrated about it. I dont know how anyone who's active on this thing and has 1 nymph could be happy with it. Can you really blame me?
And I'm certainly not the only one.

No, you are entitled to post your suggestion :). But for me, I do experience the "wow" factor every time I win a nymph. You don't. You're one of the unhappy ones.

No, I can't blame you, you unlucky dog. I haven't won a nymph in quite awhile though either.

In another topic I heard someone mention that now if the oracle chooses the nymph, it chooses again one time and if it's a nymph AGAIN you win it. If this is true, or something like this has taken effect, then I would like that changed back. Otherwise I don't wish for the system to change.

Question, though: Do you get frustrated every time you don't win a lottery ticket and the person next door wins the jack pot? ;)

Nope, not at all. Life is not a competition. I'm happy for my neighbor. I am also happy and congratulate whenever I see someone coming on chat with "woohoo I won a nymph". However, if I face nymph deck in PvP I am cursing everything and everyone because I never had the option to build a deck like that.

That is why I said that I wouldnt mind Mark cards being randomly awarded. If I face someone playing Mark in PvP, I'll say "oh nice, but thats fine as I have my towers/pillars". Nymphs are spells on a stick, which is kinda big deal.

So a person drives by in an awesome car after having won a lottery. Are you cursing at them because you've never had the option of driving that awesome car? No, you aren't.

I know you said life isn't a competition, but I think you need to stop looking at it the way you are.

Instead of thinking "about time" or "I'm going to have to wait xx amount of time to get another", think "awesome!" or "cool! now I have another chance at one tomorrow!". I know you don't like the system, but you can make the best of it while it's the same :) .

When it comes down to it, this isn't quite a competition either. It's a game. (minor difference or zero difference, I know)

Puppy... I dont know what to say on that.  As I said, its not like I envy other people for their luck, its frustrating to go into PvP with that difference.
On a single player side, it is frustrating to come up with a fun and working competitive deck, that you may never use on your real account.

I also dont mind the FACT that I dont have this or that card, or that others do. I mind that the ONLY WAY to obtain them is completely random and thus beyond my control. Tournaments of course being an exception, but as I said, just minority of people is participating in those (I myself cannot devote few hours of interruptible gaming, which is why I play turn based card game in a first place).

When it comes down to it, what would the game be if the only way to obtain something is random? It wouldnt be a game.

I'm just saying that while you and others see the randomness idea as bad, just as many see it as a cool feature. It helps bridge the gap between veterans and newbies in a way.

Who is to say which way is best? Are you and the others that feel your way special? What about those of us that like the randomness? Are we special?

Answer: No.

Zanz is special. He gets to make the decision. When there's something like this where no matter what you do, make it random or not random, there will be people unhappy, Zanz gets to choose which way to go. He chose the random way.

Think about it like this:
50% Of the people want option a
50% Of the people want option b
Zanz has to make a decision. He chooses option b.
People in option a are unhappy, people in option b are happy.

If you make a poll that proves more people would rather have it be non-random versus random, then maybe it should be switched (imo; Zanz might take more convincing).

The only way to help bridge the gap between veterans and noobs (if that needs to be done anyway), is to lower the upgrade cost. Upgraded deck means more to a noob than couple of Nymphs.

As for 50-50, no way. I would be prepared to bet on my account that if Zanz placed poll ingame about that, result wont be even near 50-50.
But yes, at the end, Zanz makes decisions. I'm not demanding here anything, I'm giving feedback, and my feedback is - I'm annoyed with current system.

And as for users... If there is a way to obtain Nymphs by playing the game, while still keeping them as rare as they are (ie, impossible to farm from T50 or something like that), which way would you prefer and find more enjoyable/rewarding/fair/whatever:
a) the one that hands the nymph for absolutely nothing, just based on random luck
b) the one that hands the nymph for some ingame achievement

To be honest, I don't really care. To me, both have merits.

Option a gives newbies a chance at winning them and keeping them playing the game, and I at least DO get the "wow" factor every time I win one. And I like that wow factor.

Option b means I could probably get more of them since it would be an achievement. But it wouldn't be the same wow factor.

In addition, option b would require a longer time commitment so it wouldn't be as accessible.

Wait wait wait...

You're saying that you take more pleasure when something is just handed over to you, then when you do something to earn it? You dont get the same "wow" factor? Well then Puppy, we're just different there. I dont get the wow factor when I get something just handed over with zero effort.

It's two different kinds of wow factors.

From "wow, I'm lucky" to "wow, I'm awesome".

I already know I'm good at the game, so the achievement of getting a nymph would feel... meh, to me. Winning it by luck makes me feel... happy, in a way.

And if you just made it so instead of something where you just need to be good at the game, and something that takes a long process, then it would be grindy and unwanted. I would think "about time" when I got a nymph if it was a long and arduous process versus "I'm so awesome".

If ingame achievements are "meh" to you, then you reached the point where you have nothing to strive to in the game anymore.
Everyone is happy when they are lucky, but thats completely not the point here. I feel like I'm repeating myself here, but (imo of course) having something achievable ONLY through luck is a bad design.
There's a saying here "its better to be born without a **** than without luck". Guess that holds true in elements too.

On the side note, people are unhappy in every game, saying how this or that is too hard or should be this way or another. In every scenario, answer is "learn to play", "get better", or simply "try harder". In this scenario there is absolutely nothing you can do.

Anyway, we're dragging this for too long. I'm really glad you're happy with how things are, but there are people that are not lucky, and not happy, and its perfectly normal to voice an opinion over it.

Good luck with your future spins.

Wow, my thread had been taken over... :P

Guys, you know that there is no point in discussing about this anymore. Zanz personally said that he will not give any uses to Relic.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.
