You can easily get the cash you need by selling cards from your starter deck that you don't need and doing the quests(which is the whole purpose of having these quests in the first place). If you've already done this and spent the money on the wrong cards, then it might be worth resetting your account and starting over.  Otherwise however, the problem isn't that getting cash is too hard so much as just the fact that you need to do a little bit of research on the forums before just jumping into things to really get the most efficient start.  And since you've already found the forums, that probably gets the hardest part of that out of the way
I'll have to actually try it on the trainer later on but it should easily be possible to go from a completely new account to having a deck which is able to beat AI3 within an hour or so if you know what you're doing, but as I said that requires either a basic understanding of the strategy of the game or doing some research on the forums to see what decks other people recommend for this.

Y'know, I can hold my own against AI3 with a barely-edited starter deck (ie, given by the game, not from the forum). While I have had a fair amount of experience with EtG, I'm effectively a newb since I havent played for so long.
