Game ends at 0 cards https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=29188.msg372395#msg372395
« on: July 27, 2011, 10:58:35 pm »
example cards:
Pharaoh
Firefly Queen
Nymph Queen

All these cards can create more cards. So why does the game end when you run out of cards? I see no reason why the game cant keep going. I like having a small deck and I run out of cards quickly but I am sick of coming close to winning but having the game end because I have no cards left...

What do you guys think.

I am new to this forum, and this seems like something that has probably been posted but I didn't see anything in common requests so imma do it anyway cause imadbro.

Because that is  how it is in all card games? Deck out should NOT be removed, that would be stupid.

Removing deck-out would completely remove the effectiveness of some decks, and while I, too, have been frustrated to no end whenever I deck out with the opponent at one health, I think a change that big is uncalled for.

There is a huge difference between creating creatures/perms (blue nymph) and creating cards.
It would mess up the whole mechanic of the game IMO.
The potential to deck out is just a part of the game that you have to plan for.

I have played card games where deck out is not the end. and besides new people cant afford to have 60 cards so that just seems mean.

hmm good point didn't know anyone could have a strategy like that.

You can always drop the opponents hp to 0 before you deckout too ;)
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

You can always drop the opponents damage to 0 before you deckout too ;)
i could theoretically play a deck with less than 15 cards and still do 100 damage before i deck out

If this rule wouldn´t exist, infinite games would be more likely, because of healing. If both players had 0 cards and every player could heal the damage of the other player, nobody would ever win.

With the deck out rule, everlasting games are less likely (but possible with Eternity).

P.S. You are not the first, who complained about this (-> another thread <- (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,14414.0.html))

Removing this rule would take out an entire genre of deck, as there would be less ways to win overall.  I feel that deckout is something you should consider during deckbuilding, as it is a legitimate way to lose.

All these cards can create more cards.
These make creatures.if you rewind creatures you make cards.
Eternity is only anti deck-out card.

The deck out will force the player to not have the match lasting more than 60 turns.
It prevents 'one immortal needle' kind of deck ;)
