Force ads to open in a different window https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=46124.msg1033805#msg1033805

Many of us have accidentally clicked on an ad mid-game. I propose a simple solution: force ads to open in a new tab. Is anyone with me?
Also, I'm not enitrely sure this is the correct board for this, but the second closest board is the forum suggestions board, and this doesn't strictly concern the forums, although it could be applied here too. I didn't post this in the game suggestions as this does not concern elements itself.

If possible, I agree. Misclicking away from game causes much of my frustrations. Though admittedly, I never seem to click on ads, rather, I accidentally go back a page or click a bookmark (I have no idea how). Regardless, anything that would reduce chances of misclicks = fine by me.

Ads already open in a different window for me.. Maybe you can change something about your browser settings.

Under normal circumstances, they open in a different window, but occasionally they open in the same window.

Solutions:

1. zanzarino uses target:"_blank" in his code.
2. Use the plugin Adblock, this way you see no advertising, but zanzarino gets no money for ads.
3. Use a plugin for advanced tab adjustments, like Tab Mix Plus for Firefox, so that external links are always opened in a new tab.I donĀ“t know, if such a tool is available for your browser.
Edit: You can also lock your tab with this tool, this way the link is also opened in a new tab.
