like in yugioh or pokemon, i believe that the monsters without effects should carry "flavor text" written by members of the community. opinions?

I like the idea. It'd be another chance to give some personality to relatively straightforward (or boring) cards.

- It would also make for some fun forum contests.

I like the idea, but i think it should DEFINITEVELY not be the topmost thing in the list of "to do's" of the game.

That's why it should be community-driven, for the most part, and then Zanz can use or not use as he decides, or even change things if he thinks they don't fit.  Plopping some text on the card graphics is a pretty fast and dirty update, and wouldn't take a significant chunk of his time unless he takes an active hand in the creative process.

Definitely would like to see this, although I wish the non-vanilla-creature cards could fit some flavor text of their own...

Agreed. Some of the cards without abilities (Cockatrice, Hematite Golem, etc.) could most certainly use flavor text.

Good point, johan (Can i call you that? o_O) the Oracle does give some nice flavory texts to the cards, but it's mostly pointed at the user, not at the card itself... It IS an Oracle though, not some card giver describing what is the card. I guess we need it even less now.
