False God select (limited) https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4635.msg45747#msg45747

Perceived Problem: Rainbows are the only type of deck that can consistently defeat whatever False God comes up randomly.

Corollary: Mono decks can defeat certain False Gods, depending on the elemental match-up.

Proposed solution: False God Select screen.  Each False God can be specifically challenged 1/day.  'Random' option is always available.  Possible small reward for those that defeat all 19 False Gods in one day.  Possible (skippable) Megaman-esque intro for each False God.

Benefits: Allows mono decks to be able to get some use defeating False Gods without praying the matchup you want shows up in the Oracle or comes up randomly.  With knowledge of the FGs and their weaknesses, each FG can be defeated with a non-rainbow deck.  The one per day restriction is to prevent farming of the 'easy' gods.  The 'random' button is there for those that like it the way it is.

Thoughts?

Not sure what this implies... is this an epic cutscene or something? If so, I'm all for it :)

This is an idea that has been suggested before and is quite good. However, I'm pretty sure Zanz is looking to have 24 False Gods in total; thus, this system should only be implemented after the rest of the Gods are introduced into the game.

Another prospective issue: People would use it constantly against the easiest god (Incarnate or Destiny imo), leaving little strategic value.

However, good idea and I support it.

Each god is selectable 1/day, not the whole thing 1/day.

As for the intros, here's what the old Megaman game intros were like:

As for the intros, here's what the old Megaman game intros were like:

The FG's don't have a face/image/etc. Would you just flash some of their main cards then or something? I could imagine a few sequences in my head that might work. Such as that specific FG delivering the final blow to a person using their main cards. But then you'd have to watch that intro every single time you challenge a FG. That would get annoying fast.

Well, this would give us an excuse to make art for the False Gods.  And as I mentioned in my first post, the intros would be skipable.

All in all, I do like this idea.  Especially the epic intros.  :D  But aside from being able to skip each intro, there should also be an option to turn them off permanently -- mainly for speed purposes.

However, as was mentioned in the chat, I'm not entirely sure it would help promote mono decks.  Consider (a) how many separate decks would be needed in order to fight each false God, and (b) whether it would even be worth constructing decks tailored to each or a handful of FG when you can only use the deck virtually once per day.  I think the rainbow would continue to be the most common deck when fighting the false Gods.

I like the idea, but randomness makes people want to keep farming, and keeps people's score down

Wasn't this request partially fulfilled with the addition of the Oracle? Knowing what false god you will face once a day is really nice.

Yes, but the 'problem' of too many Rainbow decks still exists as far as I know.
