One word: Simplicity. That's part of the appeal of Elements to me, that it has such a small pool of well balanced cards. Graveyard cards add a whole bunch of new concepts, yes, but they add a whole new layer of confusingness. That's what turned me off of MTG. It had way too many abilities and ~1000 playable cards at one time that were in desperate need of balancing.
But don't you think the cards we have at our disposal are going to get old fast? THere are so many different concepts and strategies you can pull of with a discard pile.

10/10 this idea!!!
Obviously you haven't used the cards that were added in 1.25.
Those are awesome.
And keep in mind that Zanz would have to reprogram almost the entire game to get this to work.
And zanz is the only developer.
And after they were programmed, someone would find a way to abuse one of the new cards.

Do you see where this is going?

When I pvp ppl, generally I face the same decks over and over again, because there really only so many possibilities for a great deck, noobs play with what they can afford, so pvp'ing them adds a little variety (little = keyword).  A discard pile would be the best way to add a better variety of cards therefore allowing for a wider variety of decks.

If you want more cards, then make card suggestions, dammit.

More card ideas are not a very strong argument, especially with an already small card pool. If we really dont have anymore good card ideas, then MAYBE a discard should be implemented. However, its the last thing this game needs. The only reason given (new card ideas) is horrible because of that fact.
