Commenting Form in Card Art & Ideas

I think it would make things easier and more uniform and also mostly helpful to idea givers to have a table that guides comments on card ideas and art etc.

nothing fancy but enough to keep people from making unneeded comments. Force people to fill in boxes so "OP" or "I like this" dont end up being the only thing commented.
I know it may sound obnoxious just to comment but it would help regulate a little bit on the commenting/post amount and also would help people more when it comes to card ideas etc.

Something simple like

Suggestion: textbox
Comment:  textbox
nerf: radiobutton
buff: radiobutton

am i way off base here or do others feel this would help?

I think that you are off base. We can learn from all comments and I do not want to discourage commenting on the card ideas.

all comments? really? how many comments have you seen that just say  OP... or i dont like this.. or even i like this.. granted yes its nice to know if someone likes it or not but with no suggestions or real substance to a comment they become annoying and pointless. its frustrating to me at least to get what i would call stupid comments. im not trying to discourage commenting, just merely get rid of stupid comments. if people want to go thru the form and still leave a dumb comment i feel that would warrant a mod to go over it and warn them. it helps noone to say nothing of substance about someones card idea.
maybe if people want to just say they like or dont like it there can be a box that says
Like :selectbutton
Dislike: selectbutton

Even the comment "OP" draws the user in so a reply of "why?" will incite some to expand on why they feel that way. Even if they don't respond there is still the knowledge that the card can appear OP which indicates it either is OP or the author can be clearer in their argument for it being balanced.

However I do like the Like|Dislike button idea but can this not be done with a poll?

well yes it could be in poll but how many actually use the poll.. if it is part of the "Form" im proposing then they can just add it on to that.
Stating something is OP for me means nothing. Usually people just say it if it sounds too strong off the get go. If it really is OP to them i want substance. I want to know why it is OP. I dont want to waste time asking Why every time someone says its OP or UP. They want us to post our ideas in a certain format why cant we expect comments to be in a format of some sort?

The form for card ideas has 2 main consequences
1) Easier to understand format
2) Fewer ideas suggested (look at the early smithy for a comparision)

If we have a form for comments then we will decrease the number of comments even some of the constructive ones that it just wasn't worth the bother. I personally am partially discouraged from posting because every thread I post in will fill up my "Show new replies to your posts." this makes me start writing a reply because I have something to contribute but occasionally quit because I don't want to bother with a repeated update from that thread. I think the best option for those that do not wish to gain a benefit from the low quality "OP" or "I don't like it" comments would be to ignore those comments until reasoning is provided.

i understand why the new table for card ideas is there..
people spew out hundreds of card ideas with the given format no problem. why would it be that big of a deal to just make the comment table show up when they click comment on the card idea. ( only card ideas get this not all comments)

ignoring the OP etc is already what i do. most of the time if i dont post begging for any sort of decent comment i do not get a response to why its OP from whomever said it. 
as far as the filling up the new replies to my posts... i think the option to remove certain threads from that would be nice.. i know some of them i get randomly are from months ago that someone decided to post in that i have no reason to read.

If the reply button gave a popup box that asked for the comment, suggestion, and whether they liked it or not all they have to do is fill it in. i dont think thats too much to ask out of people

I brought up the "Show new replies to your posts." as a clear anecdotal example of how any extra effort will not only decrease useless comments but also decrease useful comments. Since the useless posts in question can simple be ignored, we are better off in the long run to suffer the useless comments to obtain all the useful comments.

However if the form was provided for them when they click reply that would alleviate some of the extra effort but would not deter those that just want to reply "OP" in the comments box

Oldtrees:  it could stop them from posting that by making a minimum character amount. Say somewhere around 50? at least a well thought out sentence can hopefully be formed with 50.

I think a smaller limit (20?) for quick replies to questions is better. However this has developed toward something I might accept.

My next concern is that splitting comments and suggestions apart is not always beneficial to the flow of an idea.

Also now that I am starting to warm up to this idea and at least one other person has seen it: Don't you think this would be better in Forum suggestions?

the limit was just random shot in dark.    <<< 31 without counting spaces or punctuation. so idk 50 would be a more thought out response. 20 would still be too small..
it could be left together. comments dont always have to be a suggestion. could just put
Comments/Suggestions:________ (min 50 char.)


and.. i guess? i put it in the game suggestions and feedback. guess didnt look for that/didnt know that was a section.
