Could we get a way to change our password? I'm thinking about quitting, and I might decide to give my account away. I'm nice like that.

The only way to change your password is to email zanz with a sufficient reason why you'd like to change your password.  That said, I don't think account sharing, selling, giving away, etc, is really encouraged.

If you're going to quit, why not just let the account rot?  That way, if you ever change your mind and come back, it will still be here for you.

Lol that way I won't come back. I won't have an account to return to. I could just reset the account, but I figured I'd see if I could help someone out first.

I'll probably just end up letting the account "rot" like you said though.

Giving away your account is a bad move. I've "quit" from many games, only to return after some time has passed. It's really cool to revisit old games, if only for a week or so. This is why I highly recommend you don't give out your account.

And besides.. who wants to play with someone else's IGN?

I was a whiz at Goldeneye.  I used to have all the spawn points memorized, and if we ever played proximity mines I could get it set up so that as soon as you spawned you died to a mine... Most Dishonorable indeed lol.  Starfox, Mario Kart, Zelda.. that system was the best.

I think you should keep your account Demagog.

How silly of you all to think I'm exactly like you. If I quit, I quit. I won't play again, ever.

Lol, it's funny how people who quit always want attention. This is like an e-suicide thread masked to be a suggestion  thread. :)

What happened to the good old just quitting and never coming back? Today you always need to make a big deal out of it :)

I made a big deal about it? Where? All I did was ask for the ability to change a password so I could give my account away if I decide to quit. And if I do decide to quit, the only goodbyes you'd get from me are if I had some type of important position. I don't plan on having one. No one here is a friend of mine, so there's no need for farewells.

You are right though. I do want attention. In the form of most topics created :-D

Well, maybe "big deal" was wrong wording, but this does sound a bit like a "cry-for-help" type of e-suicide threads. You know the one where you don't really mean to do it and you want someone to stop you? :)

Letting everyone know you are quitting or leaving from a game has always amused because I've never really understood that kind of behavior and it fascinates me. We've had members on this forum who have started this big dramatic "farewell thread", only to come back after a couple of weeks like it's nothing. I find it very funny. :)

Back on topic.. yes, ability to change passwords would be great. I'm betting the biggest problem here is, as usual, idiot hackers. One small flaw in the code and we start getting tons of "Zomg my account was hacked" type of threads.

Still off topic: I've been involved with a few other forums in the past. The only time I said I was leaving was when I was a global moderator. And I posted that in the staff section that only mods and admins have access to. So, I pretty much agree with you when you say farewells are kinda strange for forums.

With this game though, isn't everything client side pretty much? For instance, you could make it so the person inputs their password into one box, then the one they want into another (and a second to keep people from making typos). Then the person hits submit, the game does its "saving" thing, and then the password is saved on the server. I'm no hacker, but I'm not sure how you could hack that.
