As of right now, choosing to surrender when in the arena is basically just losing against the deck. Why would there be a surrender option if you surrender and lose, but if you play you might have a chance of losing? I propose that if you choose to surrender, instead of losing all of your rings for a rare spin, you only lose one. This would make it so that there is a clear difference in surrendering and choosing to play against a hard to beat ghostmare. If you surrender, you lose only one ring, and if you lose, you lose all your rings.

I would be against this because of how it was in the start with high ranking decks getting surrenders for wins, because no one wanted to face them and people wanted to keep their spins. If this happens, decks that are high ranking will just get farther and farther ahead because no one would play them to keep their rings.

As it is now surrendering is actually worse because you get 5 electrum back for voting when you lose.

But either way, I'm saying, you should at least give some benefits back to the surrender option.
Surrender option: Lose all your spins, no hope of win, lose 5 electrum
Play the deck anyway: Possibly lose all your spins, possibly gain a ring, possibly win electrum, possibly win cards, if you lose, you still gain back electrum.

If Surrender is such a bad option, why is it even included?

I have to agree with furballdn here. Sometimes you know you have no hope of beating a deck, and you play anyways and get slaughtered so you can get your 5 electrum refund. I dont like playing when i know Im going to lose. This could also punish typical decks by making a surrender not count as a play.

Currently, when I want to surrender, I just play and immediately quit. I usually rate randomly, but I think it doesn't accurately reflect the originality of the deck. I agree with furballdn, surrender must be changed.

Please DO NOT change this option. It has made me a better player... If I had the option to "opt out" for a slap on the wrist, I'd just be another noob collecting cards.
I love playing this game and trying to find decks that can beat others. GotP is powerful but it can be beat very easily... every deck has its counter...
I say "man-up" and stop thinking that "it's not fair..."
Don't mean to sound harsh but if all you're after is the deck or the electrum, go hit the trainer...

I'm just saying that the surrender option is quite odd. If everything it does is worse than fighting and quitting, why even include the surrender option? Either remove it, or make it something like a plea bargain. You lose, but not as much as if you had tried to fight. Perhaps, get back 10 :electrum?

The way it works now is a generally accepted form of gameplay. See: Poker. You put in your ante, get a glimpse of your cards, then have the option to fold. (This is slightly different since you don't go on to wager more money as the game goes on, but the "ante" concept is the same.)

I would oppose any changes to the surrender functionality.

Also by surrendering you save valuable time that can be used on another game actually netting you more electrum. so surrender should cost you more in the end.

Bad idea. Players would always quit in the turn before the final strike of the AI - if the end is predictable, and it often is. Means practically that players would often lose only 1 ring. That´s too easy.

A surrender option is needed. Sometimes, you know you lost, even if the AI hasn´t executed it´s final strike. To Surrender saves time.
"oops wrong mark/deck" is also a reason to surrender.
It´s also common, that the user has the right to abort a game at any time he wishes to do it.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think that furball was talking about the "surrender" option before you start the match, and not leaving mid-way.

I agree. I was gutted the first time I tried to back out and lost the Electrum, but weighing it up, you're basically entering into a knockout style tournament (ish) you shouldn't gain anything back from surrendering. The fact that you have to fight that specific deck that you know is going to beat you should motivate you to build a better deck...

Lets be honest, and don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome to see all the support from people but there's tutorials from ultra noob to FG farming, pre built decks for beating pretty much everything, AI3 - FGs. Arena from Bronze - Plat, I mean how can you possibly ask for more? lol, there's not many things that you have to do yourself around here if that's the way you wanted to play. Keep the button and be grateful  ::)
