Yes. It is a way to know how well your deck did overall without using ranking, which is good  because with ranking it may seem your current deck did better than your last deck but many  other people may have just happened to post bad decks.

The increase in rating from day to day is different. Yesterday it was 7, today it was 5 (all in plat). A thumbs up only doubles rating gain. The thumbs up counter would mostly be for people who like seeing how original and fun their deck was found to be.

I agree. It's a pain in the ass counting the thumbs up, given at different rank,  is different. 1st few wins, probably i can still use this No. of wins - ( earned / 12) . Remainder = thumbs up. But soon, it becomes 24  for thumbs down and rank 10 or higher, 60

Adding a "Thumbs up" counter gets a thumbs up from me.
Rating is good and all, but its a bit arcane to decipher for the average player I think. This gives a short simple way to figure if people like your arena deck or not.
