Good point with the
/turn calculation. Turns don't necessarily last the same amount of time with different decks, but I think it's close enough for all intents and purposes.
As to worrying about people min/maxing to get the most out of the bonuses: as long as rush decks are still the most efficient way to get
I really don't see this being much of a problem.
On a more general note, so far I've only really been considering AI3 (at least primarily), but Essence does bring something to light: matches against AI5 or FGs tend to be longer.
Should we discuss different bonuses for different AIs? (could get too complicated?)
