[Flying Weapon | Animate Weapon] Is an animated weapon a weapon or creature? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=46978.msg1043534#msg1043534

Hi.
I noticed that when you animate a weapon it's hard to say if it's a creature a weapon. That's what I mean:
- it can be lobotomised - creature
- it can't be destroyed - creature
- it can be endowed by crusader - weapon

So, my idea is that after animating it should be strictly weapon or creature - if you can lobotomise it, it can't be used to endow; if you can endow it, it can be destroyed by explosion or pulvy, but not lobotomised. IMO the first idea, to become strictly a creature is better, as it won't change the game so much (and if it was still a weapon it would be pretty pointless to use animate weapon except for having multiple weapons).

What do you think?

Both.
Weapon is basically permanent, but if you use FW|AW it becomes a "weapon creature". Still, it treats as weapon and it can be endowed and can't be targeted with Mitosis.
Interaction between Mitosis and weapon creatures are there due to a balancing problem.

Circular Logic is true. Thus, Circular Logic is true.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? IT´S....AW  ;D

It´s no creature, it´s no permanent, it´s an animated weapon. I think of it as a hybrid, you remember Blade? Half man half vampire, strengths of both sides and some (not all) flaws of both sides. So an animated weapon loses it´s flaw to be target to PC but keeping it´s ability to share its powers with endowing creatures and gains the flaw to be target to CC and the possibility to have more than one and be the target of positive effects (SoP, Adrenaline and so on)

I think the mechanic is fine as it is.
