Meh. As someone who knows exactly how the AI plays and reasons, this seems like an option that panders to the lazy.

Not learning and memorizing every nuance of the game is laziness?  ;D

Being pro and knowledgeable is always a nice edge to have, even if those who play more casually get some guidance and pandering. The boost is almost entirely a net positive effect for the game, however, because it reduces the burden of knowledge and confusion that the casuals deal with, leading to more people sticking with the game. Tiny communities of hardcore players don't view many MochiAds.

Yes.

Half the fun of a game is finding out how the details work. I never would've stayed with it if details like how Adrenaline work were handed to me on a silver platter. Doing research is extra easy thanks to the Trainer, and these ambiguous aspects give people stuff to talk about, just like secrets behind how certain cards work (for instance, how Antimatter+Dive used to work, or how it works with Poison).

If Zanz wanted everything to be super-easy to grasp, he would've changed in-game descriptions on certain cards. And yes, it panders to the casuals, which is good for fleeting popularity. Is that a good thing? I leave that to the developer to decide. Not you, and not me.

If you're so vehemently against the concept, would theoretically including that as an optional feature so that those who consider themselves purists wouldn't have to view it be okay?

EDIT: spelling.

I'm sure that Higs wouldn't be too enraged if the hands were shown w/o choice.
However, she does bring up the good point that most of us AI3, T50, and FG farmers know exactly how the AI works (after all, how can you face the Arena AI w/o knowing how it prioritizes) so we don't really need this feature.

Even so, I assume the elite players who know exactly how the AI works are also in the minority. This would be helpful to the majority of the playerbase.

Not sure how you can interpret anything I've said as being vehemently opposed. If this was implemented at all, it's very obvious it would be an option, not something forced.

This is a matter of principles. EtG hasn't ever made it easy for the player, and I enjoy that. Far too many modern games are extremely easy, leaving me unsatisfied and without a challenge. That EtG has stayed like this is a big reason I'm still here.

Finding out how the AI works down to every exact detail is honestly very easy. Considering how dumb it still is, this has now turned into a challenge because we're building decks for it. There's still that challenge left even if we add this option, so I have no problem with this particular concept. It's just a little out of character for the game itself, and against my personal gamer philosophy.

I'm going to shrug at most if it's added, but if I see more changes like this in the future I will start to worry.

It seemed that you were disparaging the idea by saying that it panders to the lazy and how you wouldn't have stayed on if this was here when you started. Seems quite opposed to me, but if that wasn't your intention, then I apologize for the misunderstanding.

I think it's a good idea. I don't see why the game has to be so hard to get really good at. I would like to get better and I don't want it all handed to me - but I don't think this would be handing me much. I would still have to put in the time and effort to learn what the AI does, but it'd be a little quicker. I would still need to play lots of hands in training of testing because there are so many different hand combinations in a deck.

Im in favour of idea's that make things overall better without a down side.   (Would make it a Toggle button tho,  with on/off)

That i had to figure out where to find chriskangs AI Script, read dozens of pages, play dozens of matches etc.
to figure out how exactly 100% the AI prioritizes doesnt mean we should force others to do things the hard way.
(i personaly like reading, and tought it was a fun challange =) , but we shouldnt force people to do such things.)

Its like some (extremely =P) elderly people saying we shouldnt allow cars, because they had to walk everywhere,  then so should everyone else.
