I don't suppose a few direct damage abilities would be useful?  2 Fire: Do 1 damage to target creature?

That would totally change the whole game and will never happen.

Not every game needs to be a MtG clone. I personally like Elements the way it is.

Yeah it's good the way it is now but that would bring a lot more strategy. And just because you want to be original doesn't mean you shoudn't take a good idea from an another game.
Do you have any idea how much work it would require? Zanz would basically have to recode and rebalance everything.

Think about gameplay. How would you implement this idea of yours? What does "monsters could battle against each other" mean? Do we assign blockers? Does every creature pick another creature as a target? Something else?

Here's how the gameplay would be. There would be 5 monster slots on the field so if your opponent has a monster in slot 1 you summon a monster in your slot 1 so they battle each other(if your monster has 10 atk and your opponents monster has 9 def or lower it gets destroyed). If you summon a monster in slot 2 for an example and your opponent doesn't have a monster in his slot 2 your monster attacks his life points. The monsters wouldn't be able to go to another slot(unless that monster has that effect or you activate a spell), you could make some weak monster that can atack all of opponents monsters on the field and so on. The possibilities are great and i know that it would take much time to implement it but i really think it would make elements a better game.

Yeah, it's a pretty interesting combat system. Probably the best online CCG combat system I've ever seen. But Elements is different and we have to live with it.

I started a thread earlier about how everyone should only suggest ideas that actually have a chance of happening. This idea will never happen because Zanz won't redesign the whole game. All the work he is doing now is related to making the existing game run more smoothly and adding new content.

Yeah. Looks like it's been done before Warstorm.

That Astral Masters is a very cool game actually. Too bad it isn't a flash game like Elements.

It was funny when I tried out out the game and got absolutely destroyed by the freaking novice mage in my first five matches. The guy just ran over me like it was nothing. Then as a joke I decided to try the Archmage (most difficult opponent) and I beat him the first time I fought him! :)

AI difficulty needs sone tweeking. :)

Well, to my defense I didn't didn't pay that much attention to strategy because I just wanted a quick look on what the game is about and also I didn't even know the rules. :)

So in that sense me losing the first 5 matches was not that surprising but the fact that I won the 6th one against Archmage was pretty funny because I used the same "strategy" as I used on my first 5 matches.

I think that it would be good if monsters could battle against each other(not just with special effects) because the game would be much more challenging. I know that that's maybe a too big of a change but the game would be more fun that way.

BTW A very terrible idea. Monster to monster would ruin this game
