Tired of grinding? Seeing alot of players quit before they get the hang of the game and get better cards?

Why not add an auto feature. This button would appear at the main page, where you can click to turn it on or off.
It would play your deck just like the AI would, obviously, since it is the AI lol. You can watch it play.

Benefits of this:
* More players play longer without quitting because of the insane amount of grinding required to become a decent competitor.
* As a result of the above, more players would be likely to join.
* Players have a chance to gain cards a bit easier. Even though the AI plays this game like a 5 year old would and would lose half the time, they don't really lose anything.
* Not so tiring, players could easily do 50 duels a day without getting sick of it.


Drawbacks of this:
* Newer plays have the chance to gain the cards that older players tried hard to get.
* Older players may not like this idea at all.
* Could possibly make the game a bit too easy, depending on the AI setting.

Hope you like this idea, I tried looking for a similar one but didnt find any.
Criticism is welcomed, but point out why it isnt such a good idea please.

Yes, but only if the AI had higher intelligence. As cool as this would be, the AI still blunders from time to time and can be subject to some decks that would never work in PvP (e.g. Nightmare + Photon + Solar Shield is a clever example.) As it currently is, though, I wouldn't mind seeing this in the trainer. :)

EDIT: I stand corrected. Good point pika, hadn't thought of that.

No, just no. I'd rather not have Elements turn into one of those idle games (or worse, Tyrant and its almost completely automated game mechanics).

This suggestion has no benefits.
We would not see more players- we would see less, as they just turn the AI on and stop playing.
It would give players cards without giving them an incentive to actually play the game. We already have the trainer for testing out things- no need to make it in game as well.
50 duels a day? You're kidding, right? If you haven't noticed, the AI responds to your actions almost immediately. A game between two AIs would be near instantaneous, and you would see thousands of games every day, minimum- if the server doesn't die after such an increase in traffic. If you remove the GUI, all you are left with is math. Computers do math very quickly.

The drawbacks are that it would ruin the game. It's not about whether or not newbies can get cards easier, or the difficulty of the game (I believe that there is only 1 AI difficulty, btw)- Arena makes it loads easier than before, and the trainer allows people to experiment with all the cards- it's about whether or not the game is worth playing.

I am one of the players that quit the main game and now just play on the trainer. (Yes I am adverse to grinding aka lazy)

Anecdote:
When I first heard about the Arena I thought it was going to be a viable way for poor players to auto grind to become richer. I went back to try to make arena decks. However I found the arena decks were not profitable and I found that I only stayed around long enough to test Me vs Arena before going back to the trainer.

Position:
I would like the early part of the grind (till ~ 2 upgraded decks) to be made faster. An Auto would allow that but it might remove a lot of PvE. The final variable that we should base our opinions on is whether the aggregate value this game provides would increase or decrease. Since the trainer exists, I am not sure this would be a positive change compared to adverting the trainer.

Aves; You have a very good point there. 50 games wouldn't be close to what it would actually be, I didn't consider the speed at which AI plays games.

There are ways around this though, like having the button only able to be turned on 15 times a day, just like the oracle button is only click-able once per day.
That also solves the problem of not many playing PvP, after possibly gaining 1 or 2 upped cards they would like to play some PvP or arena with those.
You could say they might just play the trainer, but seriously when you first started who would you rather face? Another player, or a trainer. Definitely another player.

OldTrees; Yes I agree, ive only been playing for a week and its extremely tiring to grind away with 1/4 of an upped deck. Even if this was somehow sped up to 1.5x the gain/chance it would be great for all new players. There are many, many players in bronze arena that have less than 50 health, because they have quit the game. I wonder why they quit.. doesn't take a genius to work that out lol.

I don't follow your logic here.
This would still detract from pvp. Why would you want to go to PvP due to having an extra upped card? In PvP 1 it would just go back to normal; there would be no incentive. In PvP 2 you would get crushed by upped decks. Arena is not PvP in that it is not in real-time- In Arena, it is still a player versus an AI, though both decks are player made.

In addition, the number of times you hit the button still doesn't prevent you from leaving it on.

It's like using cheat codes- initially fun/cool, but it gets boring real quick.

You choose an amount of time (up to, like, 12 hours)

From what you've said, it's safe to say that you can just leave it on for 12 hours straight if you'd like.

Does this help? Seems like this idea isnt popular lol, oh well I guess ill just grind away for the next 3 months :(

If you don't want to put in the effort to obtain all the cards just use the trainer. No need to screw the game up because you're lazy...
