World of Elements
Join Open Beta!

After ridiculous amount of development and testing, the massive forum event World of Elements (WoE) is finally ready for open beta. I would have liked to run alpha a bit longer, but at some point of the development we just have to start the event with what we have. Despite the potential balancing issues, everything looks great and I'm confident that WoE will be a big success. I would like to thank everyone who participated in Alpha and helped with the development.

To learn more about WoE please read WoE Rules (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,17354.0.html). Warning: some parts of the rule topic have not yet been updated.

Requirements:
- Jr. Member or above

How to Join:
- Join by replying to this topic and listing 1-3 of your favorite elements in order of preference so that your first pick is on the left (see next post as an example)
- IMPORTANT: You cannot change your element during the event so make sure you pick an element you like!
- Alpha testers get first picks
- If you cannot get into the team you want, you can join some other team or wait for more spots to open
- Joining a less popular element has its advantages, like better chances of becoming the ruler of that element
- During alpha, we will probably see huge changes to skill trees and other aspects of the event. By joining beta you accept the fact that things change during event development. If you are the kind of person who cannot handle change, then I recommend you skip beta and start from the final event, although things will probably change in that as well.
- teams will be assigned using a complex system that involves seniority status, other things and maybe even pure luck. Spots will not be given on a first-come-first-serve basis so take your time deciding which team you want to join

- we will have a player cap of 6 per team. After the beta ends, player cap will be increased to 12.

FAQ:

Rules looks really complicated. Is WoE a difficult event to understand?
WoE rules are complex but not that complicated. WoE is basically a boardgame that we play using the forums and Elements the Game. And like with regular boardgames, rules might sound complicated at first, but once you start playing they are really easy. Basic mechanics of WoE are really simple but because there's a lot of things going on at once, rules are several pages long. Luckily you don't need to know all the rules to start the event. If you don't like reading, just join and copy what others are doing.

How much time do I have to commit to WoE?
Compared to most other events, not that much. One round lasts about 24 hours during which you post your actions. This simple process takes only a few minutes. And if you want to take a break from WoE, just stop posting your actions and your character will wait for your return. WoE is not like War where you need to be present at a certain time or your team is screwed. In WoE you can play on your own terms and you can quit the event any time you like, no questions asked.
