honestly, I'm not trying to prove anything, I'm only sharing my opinions.
by all means do try it. but it is a captioning contest.

and the jury thing? it's not as bad as it sounds. yes some people has more worthy opinions. isn't that why you are making this?
to prevent voting just because they like the image? :)

either way is fine with me.

Who would you suggest is this "jury" then? Who are these people whose opinions are better than others?

The idea is not to "prevent" anyone from voting. The idea is to try to make the vote about the card IDEA, not the image, just like it should be. Also we get art Developers can actually use which is always great.

The fact some people have voted for the image in the past doesn't make them inferior or dumb. It only makes them human.

honestly, I don't know who this jury should be. But I'm sure you would know, being around here, knowing the guys.
Personally I'd feel more honored if I was chosen by an informed jury rather than a popular vote.

Really though, I don't have any interest in either case.  Just putting my .02 kurus out there.

I strongly disagree with the jury idea. This forum is supposed to be a totalitarian state democracy, therefore everyone's vote should be equal.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

I agree that this new change will be more fair in competitions, but half the fun in them was finding the matching art that makes your idea that much special.

I agree with Phantom. If you don't want the images to matter, then specify "NO IMAGES." Because as he said, if we all just used a stock photo (like a picture of a dagger for a weapons competition), then the boomerang idea would never have come up since a boomerang isn't a dagger.

Even stock photos would severely limit the competition.

I like the idea of competitions where you HAVE to use a certain image, but it creates an entirely different creation environment. It's like the difference between an unupped tourny and a special rules tourny: both are tournaments, but you need different mind sets to make decks for them. So the card idea competitions shouldn't solely be done this way.
