P.S.  I'm mostly kidding with this.
The fact that you said "mostly" kind of troubles me.

Anyways, you can't "ding" anymore, so everyone's Karma would rise up forever until it breaks the forum format.

Nice call, this is true democracy, where the power to change things lies in the people.

So, my speculation was correct, I have gotten none negative karma for all the time I spent on this forum. So, no huge karma boost for me, yeah!
Wait, no karma boost? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

You need to have 20 posts first. Then the [ + ] under each person's karma will link to a "Karma Change Description" page. Type in your reason for giving them karma and click continue.

I might even open up the Karma logs to everyone so you can see a full history of who gave you positive Karma and why. More about that later.
that would be a great update. Coudl we only see our own karma log, or everyone's?

I would only say your own karma log
btw you can see what you got karma for and on what post, when you turn on the box saying recieve PM when my karma changes, but you cannot see who gave it too you

Is there any way to look at that karma retroactively?

Yeah, this makes the forums a more positive place, but what about the people that deserve the OPPOSITE of karma, like that guy who posted on that other guy's card idea and was the first post saying something like "You suck, gtfo the forums"? He deserves the [-]Karma button. But other than that, it seems like a good idea.

*Note*
I did not mention names above so I would not embarrass anyone.
