Maybe this should be run after trials? I think there are people that are going to decide based on if they win trials or not (i.e. will want to be either General or WM)
Albeit true, it would unnecessarily delay war: with a new Warmaster team we'd like to give them the time they need to prepare the rules for the next War. If the applications only start after trials AND we gave them the time they needed without unneeded pressure or rushing we'd easily be two months later. If War is to happen two months after trials it should be by choice, not because the Warmasters need to rush the rules. Making them drama-proof has already proven difficult enough as is.
You can put it into your application if your decision depends on trials, but know that it will significantly reduce your odds.
We have one WM active right now (Jenkar) and they intend to start War around mid-late September. So I think you could wait till the end of Trials to start WM hirings, since a lot of people don't apply on the off-chance that they become Master and want to be General.
In case you're worried about there being a long lull between War and Trials, just trust me that the gap won't be too long.
On the one hand we want Warmasters ASAP to start with preparations, on the other hand applicants prefer waiting until the end of trials. But for preparations to start now we must have a Warmaster team.
