Oops, didn't see this in time to post it before the app deadline was up, but I guess I'll still offer few of my immense words of wisdom.
Being a TO is about having fun and helping others have fun. It gets stressful at times, you will make mistakes. If you take this job too seriously and forget to have fun, you won't last three months (shush, I know I made it like 8, though I didn't leave due to disliking the position). Also, you need to be flexible with your hosting times, as there isn't always a time where someone is able to host, even now getting a Euro-TO. Heck, I remember one time where I ended up hosting a tourney at like 4am my time after a day where I had to get up at 6. Of course, that is in the extreme and may never happen, but you need to make sure you're more open with your hosting times. Lastly, be tolerant of others. Not everyone is as amazing as you think you are (we are all guilty of this), but we are all different people, each with our own unique quirks. Make sure you keep your cool, as the only thing less fun than a tourney going all wrong is one having a tourney organizer who clearly has no patience or understanding of any of those in said tournament. Having fun while hosting makes the tournament fun for those attending.
