Is the only advantage in uploading to the server, that the avatar is bigger?

Actually that image size thing is old system. Currently it's 128x128 for everyone.

Only advantage with image uploaded on our server is that the image won't disappear like it can from the likes of Imageshack. There's no other difference.

In any case, this thread would make a nice sticky, somewhere.  I know a lot of newbies have questions regarding the benefits of the higher forum ranks (e.g., avatars, karma, etc).  Perhaps we should have a forum FAQ?  (Do we already have one, somewhere?)

Forum FAQ is something I've been planning on doing since day one. I've just been too busy/lazy to do it.

We need both Forum FAQ and Elements FAQ. I was thinking about asking community for help with the latter. Maybe a thread where everyone posts one question and answer, and then we compile everything.

Ha ha, That was actually the first post I made as a junior.. I love irony!
I think I'll leave off an avatar for the time being regardless though, I kinda like my blank space for some reason.
