New Plugin: Quiz

Quiz is an integrated quiz system we now have on the forums. It is both fun and educational. Currently we only have quizzes about Elements, but later we'll add off-topic quizzes as well.

Features
- Multiple question types: multiple choice, free text, true/false
- Questions based on images
- Tree format for categories to assign quizes to
- Ability to limit the number of times a quiz is played
- Ability to set the duration for a quiz question
- Turn on/off answers being shown
- Import Quizzes - allows you to create and share quizzes with the wider community
- Various statistics such as number of quiz winners, hardest/easiest quizes, popular quizes, active players, total quizes, questions, answers etc
- View user specific quiz details

Special: Quiz Leagues
- Answer one random 25-question quiz every round
- each round lasts 7 days
- there are 10 rounds
- Get points based on how many you get right

I've had some big problems with the Elements Quiz League (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?action=SMFQuiz;sa=quizleagues;id=1#).

• One question was "What is this picture?" but I could not view the picture.
• Another question was how many Quantum Towers are allowed in a deck, and I believe the answer should be 60.  I guess it's possible I read that question wrong in my haste but I can't say for sure because the question disappears when the answer appears.  Which is really stupid.
• Another question referred to the deck in the previous question, but I think question order is randomized and so I had no idea what the hell it's talking about.  The answer to that question states that "Gavel which does 7 damage for 3 quanta."  Lol.
• One question regarding Masters was just plain 100% wrong.
• One question appeared twice.
• Twice a loading screen came up and I was forced to close the browser.  So I got two additional "timed outs."

When I try to protest the questions I get an error and it advises I contact the administrator.

All in all this was a tremendous waste of time, but it has potential to be a lot of fun.

I just talked to Rav in chat.  Turns out I had the right answer and the quiz marked it wrong and said the correct answer was something else.

Currently the main issue is that we don't have any QMods, just me. I don't have time to check all the individual questions, which is why errors are bound to happen. Once we have 2-3 people with cool titles to run that Quiz section, the quality of quizzes will improve dramatically.

I don't know why the dispute button didn't work. I know it has worked many times in the past, so it's either your system or some random bug. I've had a couple of random errors myself when using the quiz thing. It's actually designed for a previous version of our forum software, and it's pretty complex, which is why some bugs might appear.

Future quiz authors should mind the response time limit -- i.e., if you give 5 seconds to answer, don't write a question like "Put the last five elements of the periodic table in reverse alphabetical order with no spaces or punctuation."

Is there some way for a quiz author to change the answers to a question that has already been submitted? There are a few questions in one of my quizzes where the answer is present but designated incorrectly.

Some quizzes are not working atm. Reason for that is that some questions are blank, and a single blank question kills the whole quiz.

Reason why the question is blank, is probably one or more of the following:

1. The question was too long so it got auto-deleted.
2. You used some kind of special characters that the software doesn't recognize

Those are just me theories though. There could be another reason.

I think it would be better to designate a few volunteers to design the questions, and/or have those people review all submitted quizzes before they are added.  Maybe have a guideline for the quiz submissions as well?

Great idea, and I would like to help if it isn't too time intensive.
