I think what xBerserk is saying is that if you get karma notifications through a popup box, then you don't get a description. Through PM, you do get a description.

Pop up box? You mean the notification that says you got a message? If so, that's just letting you know you have a message. Someone changing your karma is always sent to you via PM, as long as your options are set to receive it.

That's just it. If you don't have it set to PM then it's set to pop up box. And the popup box does not have a karma description, however if it's set to PM, it does have a karma description.

No, I simply meant through PM. Though by default, it's set to "off", so I don't know what the reasons for previous Karma are.

I think the deafault setting should be PM and notification. I can't imagine someone not wanting to know why they get karma.

^this. through searching i've found this thread and how to get the PM for future karma, although I've no idea for what reason I got my 2nd karma......would be nice to know!

I must say I have a funny feeling about the choice of the word, Karma.

First of all, Karma is a religious and cultural concept in India. Is it really something we should use so lightly?

Second, the word Karma implies that there is clear judgment on what is good or bad. But, given the nature of how Karma system works on this forum, it is a subjective system and does not really live up to what the word Karma means. Karma is not something a human being can give but rather determined by divine superior power.

Just a thought.

"Karma" is a common feature on many forums, and the term is used colloquially. You're about a decade too late to start complaining about the name.

Besides, I did not complain. I was sharing "my thought" as I even wrote so.
