Forum Funding - Donation Drive

Hmm, i have to say some 

I know that my view could be a bit dumb and many of you will think "what the hell is his problem"... but me really hate that kind of rewarding donation.
Me totally accepts that this forum need money and that forum is important for our community, but rewarding things outside of the game with game related stuff is not good imho! So me is ok with forum-stuff like icons and such, but giving ultra-rare cards out for money is the worst case szenario for every game! Its not me will cry cause me has no money or such, me could spend that money... but honestly thats not the way the game will give you that cards... its some sort of luck, some sort of skill and some sort of durability to stay and wait for your chance to claim that cards! But spending money and money and money to get cards is for ME the ultimate wrong way for a "free online card game"...

If thats the way, i have to tolerate it... but sorry, i had to spoken that out, cause its not the way i like it.

No worries Spiel, I mostly feel the same. The only reason donations didn't bother me when I first joined was because they don't give a player any real advantage in competitive PvP. Additionally, if you want to buy your way to all cards in the game you'll be paying a -lot-. You basically have to grind.

The reason I'm okay with forum donations is the same: you'd have to pay insane amounts of money to get any kind of real "advantage". Unfortunately we have to rely on donations as long as we can't have ads (and even then ad revenue won't cover everything).

I donated shortly after this topic went up (14th December), and haven't seen any mention of it or been contacted about it (donated enough for the silver icon/newsletter mention). I've got a receipt from PayPal. Is this donation drive being followed through with or looked after?

I think it is simply Anti being inactive, and he is the one who the donations gets to.

I have contacted antiaverage. Once he updates the Forum Hosting Status, we will have proof that you have donated, and UTAlan will be able to hand out the rewards.

you have to spend 80$ to get a nymph. that's not exactly my idea of efficient.

Wait... are you guys saying that the forum's absaloutely dependent funding-wise on one person? You guys need some1 else to be there. I mean, what if, god forbid, anti got in a terrible accident? Then wouldn't the funds be lost??

Has the Council decided what to do if money runs dry?  As this will happen in less then a month baring a generous contribution...
In chat we talked about reddit or a free hosting forum... I would also highly suggest to lighten the site as it is full of useless/necro post that we can rid of making the transfer easier.  This can't wait after next month as we will have nowhere to see where te site is now... you need to give time to people to see where we are now.
